Releasing a buggy release is literally the worst possible idea right now

Releasing a buggy release is literally the worst possible idea right now

Why? Explain to me. And tell me how "buggy" the current 1.5.1 version is compared to the old ones (1.3, 1.4). You really think waiting another year will make it more stable?? There won't be much/any change anymore in 1.5.1. He need to fucking unleash it onto the crowd. Then he will he get his feedback which he always wanted in beta-testing. Make use of the update-feature I say.
And besides all the weapon-config, the map-improvements and the stuff which is going on now could have been finished loooooong time ago.

Soldat is declining in popularity. A buggy release is a good way to change that decline into a freefall.

And honestly you have no clue what's taking eC so long, there could just be a lot of dicks in his mouth

@Illuminatus: You read my thoughts.

1.5.1 should be released months ago. 1.5.0 has killed Death Match mode. One of the most popular modes!

It not. I play DM everyday, who cares for score, i myself removed the f1 key years ago. You can use the HUD anyways.

he just needs to f***ing tell us ALL what he's up to and how far soldat is in progress.  not only is he losing regular players, but also the more dedicated forum-registered users.  if he at least would explain to us what's going on, we'd be more patient and less likely to slip out

No, it won't in my opinion. It will be like:
- omagad, new version
- everyone downloading, getting excited
- for 90% it works, they're having fun, trying the new features, do the whining on the forum like on every version-release and stuff
- the rest maybe have some problems which lead to much much feedback --> EnEsCe can go busy
- if it really fucks up and there is some blocker bug (which I don't think because the last version was actually quite stable imo, you had any major problems?) EnEsCe would be spammed by some thousand people. I don't believe that he still would be quiet then.

And honestly you have no clue what's taking eC so long
Ya, you're right. And this sucks. Now read what zyxstand said.

I play DM everyday, who cares for score, i myself removed the f1 key years ago. You can use the HUD anyways.
There actually is a fix for the invisible score now. It's integrated into the newest chatMod v0.5.0.3.
This is quiet funny somehow. EnEsCe doesn't want Shoozza to help him coding on Soldat. But Shoozza has the permission by MM to post his mod to the forums. And now he fixed some old Soldat-bugs with his mod. What's EnEsCe now going to do? Accusing him for abusing the chatMod to actually do some Soldat-coding? ;D

eC a terrible developer? Say it ain't so!!!

I feel like you don't understand the term ``buggy release"

I feel like you don't understand the fact that the current 1.5.1 version isn't that buggy.

And if there really is some big bug:
- if it really f**ks up and there is some blocker bug (which I don't think because the last version was actually quite stable imo, you had any major problems?) EnEsCe would be spammed by some thousand people. I don't believe that he still would be quiet then.
Yes, if he doesn't act fast enough your sentence (A buggy release is a good way to change that decline into a freefall.) could be true.

Last time I tried I couldn't install 1.5.1 so yeah

I'm not worried about a large bug preventing play, I'm worried about a bunch of small bugs that will go unfixed for 2 years (see: Nuubia)

are you retarded or something? not one statement i wrote had anything to do with being a bad developer. unless you consider the whole process (including the community etc.) part of his progress. in that case: yes, he is a bad developer. i think the graphs alone speak for that...

right, as i was explaining before, it depends on your def. of developer.  in terms of programming, i'm sure he's brilliant.  in terms of keeping his clients, he's failing miserably.  so if the latter is your definition of a developer, then yes, he is a bad developer.

F1 is some tips menu in streacraft, which is next to a useful key F2.

The new game only needs to be stable and usable. As long as it's an improvement on the previous version, it should be good to go.

IMO this is dealing irreparable damage to Soldat. Going for such a long time without a release is bad, not only for keeping a user base, but for tracking down bugs that might have popped up in the large modifications that have been made.
