Ive been recently working on a cool little project. Constantly evolving art and animations aside, I think you guys will really like where its going XD
In production, all kinds of comments and ideas help out ^^


Armed with an arsenal of weapons, you are free to roam and dispose of the enemy with cunning stealth or blazing fury in this top-down Shooter.

The enemy AI has various states of awareness, and will use vision and sound to locate you. You are equipped with a prototype device giving you special abilities to gain the upper hand.

UPDATES:

15th Oct 2010
- Tweaked / HUD graphics altered slightly. Should reduce some lag.
- Added / Alert Meter.
- Added / World Map shadows.
- Added / Psuedo-3D World Depth. You can now move behind and in front the world terrain.
- Tweaked / Flame settings. Should reduce some lag.
- Added / Enemies may also leave behind grenades and medkits.

10th Oct 2010
- Added / Brand new HUD.
- Added / Flamethrower can now be used.
- Added / Realistic Fire. Flames react to the world and set it ablaze. Be careful not to get burned! If you catch fire, move quickly to dowse the flames.
- Added / Barrier power. Will reflect attacks at the expense of energy.
- Added / Player can cycle between special powers.
- Fixed / Enemies sense of hearing and vision have improved.
- Fixed / Enemies seek out your location.
- Fixed / A few bugs with items and other random object generation.
- Fixed / Hopefully most of the collision problems ^^
 
5th Oct 2010
- Added / World Map artwork.
- Removed / Preloader and Intro animations.
- Fixed / Various wall collision glitches.
- Fixed / Can spawn enemy from mouse position.
- Fixed / Energy regenerates exponentially.

- Added / Knife can now be used. Use stealth for greater damage.

- Added / Enemies are live and dangerous.
- Added / Item Boxes. Fallen enemies leave their remaining stock behind.
- Fixed / Some missing sound FX.

- Fixed / Player receives velocity and damage from explosions.
- Fixed / Player can die.
- Fixed / Enemy collision with bullets and explosions.

20th Sept 2010
- Fixed / Weapons have a suitable firing delay between shots.
- Modified / SMG switched from an AUG-P Steyr to an MP7.
- Modified / Bullet colours

19th Sept 2010
- Fixed / Nikita Missile now has Fuel.
- Modified / Hold Shift to Sneak. Running is removed.

17th Sept 2010
- Fixed / Leg animation now matches player velocity
- Fixed / Nades now have 'gravity'.
- Added / Nikita missile as Weapon Slot 8 (alternative to RPG)
- Added / Noise Meter displays actions producing varying levels of noise.
- Added / Enemy awareness is relative to nearby sounds.

I really like the current state, but unfortunatly, there are some issues:

-FPS drops (running, shooting)
-Same graphics for all bullets
-Infinite missile fuel
-Running gives you big advantages.. I'd just run all the time, because there's neither power bar nor is changing running direction any different

How did you create the graphic for the loading screen? I really love the style!

Thanks for testing it out  ^^

- Framerate will drop when you shoot or move fast in any game, the question is by how much. I only get a noticeable framerate drop if I spawn too many enemies. Occasionally running & shooting chugs a bit.

- So far :P They are individual objects so the graphics can change at any point.

- Didnt even think about that lol Easily fixed =)

- Yeah, more and more Ive been thinking of removing Run. In the next update, Stealth Walk will work by holding down Shift instead. I will probably add Turbo Run as a proto-skill later on.

Oh, and the preloader. That was done with careful layering and blending methods. 10 points to whoever can identify the figure that appears XD

Nice graphics.

1. Fix your shotgun and rifle , i fired the bullets in like a sec,add relay!
2. The nikita is too easy too control when fired (fuel problem still there)
3. Btw nice wpn sounds ;)

No its not Snake, its actually a Marvel character. Think Snake with a sword and a snazzy spandex costume.

1) FireDelay - very true, this needs to be implemented ;)
2) Once I add a 'fuel' function, you wont have long to control it. Hopefully this balances out the ease of piloting.
3) I knew you guys would appreciate em XD

-Cannot attack with knives
-M79 splash doesn't damage your own character

Kniving isnt completed, and youll notice your Health bar isnt active either ;)

You have an image of the AUG A2, which is a rifle, for the SMG. Pick an MP7 or P90 or something.

Well spotted - Its either an AUG-A1 an AUG-P, and from the first image in Google after searching "AUG Steyr".

All I wanted was a Steyr because (apart from looking good) AFAIK, its a semi-auto - short pulls of the trigger provide single shots and a long pull provides full auto or burst fire. Problem is, technically its not really a submachine gun :P

I dunno though.... Ive always thought the P90 looked like sh*t. The MP7 looks like it could fit, though Im unsure whether to go with something more uzi-like or not.

If you use Flash/Shockwave for your game, you might be interested in making money on Kongregate.com. You can get up to 50% of the ads revenue ;)

Ive done freelance Flash for quite a while now. Im well aware of my money options ;)

Kongregate is usually for people who dont grasp the true scope of how much money there is to make if you know the right people. To be honest - their terms are uniform and sucky.
Unless I fully incorporate their API and give them exclusive rights, Im only going to get 25%. Which roughly equates to not even 300$ a year (assuming the games popularity remains constant for a year). Its a nice little bonus, but I hate ads with a passion and the revenue amounts to loose change - money I can get from tips at my day job. Knowing the right people, you can get much much larger sponsorship payments, sacrifice less rights, and include my own ad revenue system.

Become friends with the people who run Flash sites and generally you can get a better sponsorship through back-of-house discussions. However, generic front-of-house sponsorship applications are great when you dont know many people personally. Really depends if your work is remotely ground breaking or not really.

yeehaaa! Another big update on the game...

My PC runs other flashgames nicely, but this one lags too much. The textures look good, but I think there should be some kind of shading. I can't really comment on the other features, because I didn't want to play a game that has FPS between 15-24..
