It's a pretty awesome game. Starting out with next to no RTS experience ever was a bit tough, but I got the hang of it pretty fast.

i've played SC2 when it's on beta...the released official games sux since i dunno how to play w/ ai's ...all are missions

Yeah TLO is really fun to watch, but my favorite player is probably Fruit Dealer. He really pulled some spectacular plays in GSL season 1.
GSL season 2 Foxer was the one to watch, although he got desperate in the grand final and got punished by zergbong.

I played quite a bit of SC2 in the beta phase, but I decided to not get it because of the BS publication system for mods/maps. Are mapmakers still restricted to 5 publications?

I've been following the competitive scene, though, esp. GSL, shame Nada is already out this season

No, Tasteless and Artosis did the casting for GSL. You might like Day9 a lot, he's as or more funny than Husky but also is a lot more knowledgeable about the game.

No. The limits are now 10 publications and 100 MB limit (up from 5 publications and 10 limit, or something like that.)
