SCTFL 15 sign-ups OPEN!

The SCTFL (Soldat Capture The Flag League) administrators would like announce that sign-ups have officially opened for the league's 15th consecutive season. SCTFL is one of only three official Soldat leagues, and it is the oldest active CTF league in existence. SCTFL consistently attracts the top clans in the competitive Soldat scene and has been host to over 1,000 clans and over 10,000 clan wars in its history.

Last season saw The Ruthless defeat Seals for their first SCTFL victory. These two clans, joined by over 100 others, played nearly 3,000 matches during the season, averaging about 82.4 matches per day and becoming the most active season on record.

The SCTFL administrators look forward to another successful season, and we encourage all interested clans to check out the SCTFL forums and sign up as soon as possible. The season is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, October 14, though clans may continue to sign up throughout most of the season. Any questions or comments may be relayed to the SCTFL team through this post or via our forums.

That was fast. Why not wait for 1.5.1? or do you have some secret information on that matter? :p

We delayed the start of SCTFL 10 for several months waiting for the supposedly imminent release of 1.4.0, and we don't want to go through that again. We've had version changes occur mid-season in the past; we simply require that everybody update ASAP, and it's never resulted in any problems.

As for knowing more than you do on the release of 1.5.1 (or even the public beta, for that matter), I can truthfully say no, nothing at all.

it appears that the competitive soldat scene is getting more active in a steady rate.

it's a good idea for none irc clans to join irc and add to sctfl, even if you won't win, you'll gain a lot by just playing strong clans.

The sctfl 15 freeplay has officially begun. You may now start playing your matches. However, before you do so, there are some important things you should be aware of.

1. You can still signup at any point until the end of freeplay. If you have already signed up and want to edit your roster, you must now use the roster changes forum and all roster changes rules will apply.

2. Default/Tiebreaker map is ctf_Division. Any matches that use steel will be void, no exceptions.

3. If you thought you can play some matches before the freeplay begins and report them now, don't report them. We will check logs and ban any clans that do this.

4. The SCTFL Staff have decided to use a new penalty system this season. It will be as follows:

Strike: Any rule break or unsportsmanlike conduct which is not worthy of a yellow card will get a strike.
Yellow Card: This is a warning that you are getting close to getting banned. A yellow card will be issued in situations where we feel that the rule break or unsportsmanlike conduct deserves more than a strike. You will also get a yellow card if you have 2 strikes. 2 Strikes = 1 yellow card. 2 Yellow cards = ban.

5. We are being sponsored this season by U13: http://rentals.u13.net/ . If you need a NA server, you should buy it from U13.

6. Geoffrey has been promoted to full SCTFL Admin.
