Combat Knife Improvements

there shud be a patch for the knife that makes the distants longer & A little faster..... Every1 knos that the knife cud be improved abit for god sakkes u cant even knife upward  :-\  :-\

Now that you mention it, I've always wondered why throwing the knife isn't affected by the player's velocity. It's unlike any other projectile in the game. It reduces the potential range when moving forward and increases it when moving backwards, resulting in the knife being a far better defensive weapon than it is offensive.

Anyone think there's some potential in adding the player's velocity to the thrown knife?

Also, why not carry more knives?
There should be a choice that if you want the knife to be your primary weapon to throw, you should at least have 2 or 3 more to carry with you.
Because sometimes you throw your knife, and you lose it  :(

And a cons, the multipe-throwing-knife is unsuited for close combat, unlike the "normal" knife.

You can carry 2 knives at the same time. However the Combat Knife should stay as it is imo, everyone got used to it.

Not if we beta test it, let it known be public for beta testers.
I don't see no BIG problem with it unless we announce it publicly that were we'd be releasing it without notice.
At least have a poll about the subject, see what everyone thinks.

Well, actually you just think it's faster, because you move into the other direction, while throwing it into your moving direction makes it look like it's slower. Same speed, same damage.

I'm totally fine with the current situation. I'm used to it and the range fits the knife perfectly. Seriously, you have not seen anyone hitting someone with a knife on 30 metres distance in reality, right? Why should you in Soldat? And before you start debating that Soldat doesn't represent reality, make sure to try a WM with higher speed for the knife. It just makes it too overpowered.

Well Im Not Saying Im Expecting Soldat To Become Call Of Duty Im Just Coming To The Point Of A Little More Strength In The Throw Of The Knife And Multi Directional Knifing Have You Noticed You Cannot Knife Upward That Should Be Fixed

Knife is mostly used when being thrown, stabbing with a knife is a bad idea(unless your oponnent havent got a weapon)

i kno that but its a matter of what if i rarely Stab with the knife but the distance of the knife throw shub be improved. Wouldnt You Agree A Little????

It depends on gamemode. In realistic the die instantly regardless distance and throw power. In normal mode it's matter of luck, kinda. Still I don't see anything to change with knife. If you don't like it - power up it on your own server with your own custom weapons.ini. About adding gostek's velocity to knife's speed - sounds fair but again "whole map long knife kills" on Shau isn't what I like. :D

I feel like there's time for a new weapon in our weapon arsenal.



Basically what u do is change ruger damage to 1000 and reload 50 and speed 200.

ye too bad you're forgetting about the knife only community ;)

so there is your reason to forget about this whole idea
For signatures, you are allowed only one image in your signature which may not be wider and taller than 300 and 125 pixels, and may not be over 20kB in file size. No BMPs are allowed.
