there shud be a patch for the knife that makes the distants longer & A little faster..... Every1 knos that the knife cud be improved abit for god sakkes u cant even knife upward  :-\  :-\

Now that you mention it, I've always wondered why throwing the knife isn't affected by the player's velocity. It's unlike any other projectile in the game. It reduces the potential range when moving forward and increases it when moving backwards, resulting in the knife being a far better defensive weapon than it is offensive.

Anyone think there's some potential in adding the player's velocity to the thrown knife?

Yes. I'd like that. It would be great!

I hate when I run fast and my soldier makes a weak throw.
( if i throw in the same direction that i'm moving )

make knife give no sound when being swapped to on realistic mode. not a big deal for normal players but makes a huge impact on realistic games. especially survival ones.

2 cents from an experienced realistic player.

What needs to be fixed for the knife is the charging time. It used to be the only way to keep from getting spawned repeatedly because you change to it and throw it very quickly to kill someone. If we're looking at this realistically no one needs to take more time to throw it harder, hell they probably need less time to throw it harder even if the accuracy maybe off a bit. The damage and the speed are fine except for that it can't be thrown upward with much force so it rarely does enough damage to someone.

gl capping without spawn killing at ash... Knife is already good as it is.

Try to nade the spawn killers feet instead of attempting to knife...

This 'right after being spawned' delay was added by nsc and noone knows why, so I just want it how it was in 1.3.1. I think shoozza took a closer look to what I wrote about knife delay and I hope it will be fixed in new release.

@ginn there is a major difference between spawn camping and spawning. Killing someone once or even twice while they're trying to spawn happens, it's a part of the game, but I've played in maps like Ash (terrible map cause it's so god damn small) and have died 3 or 4 times because someone is camping the base. I didn't even realize there was a "right after being spawned" delay, that absolutely shouldn't be there period. Now the start up time is debatable but I don't think it should be there either. I think start up/charge delay was one of the worst things to ever happen to Soldat except for maybe Barret because it's kind of brutal getting one hit that easily all the time. It slowed the game down so much.
