External exception C000001D
« on: December 23, 2010, 06:18:15 pm »
Recently re-installed soldat, and this seems to happen quite often.

Every time I open soldat it won't even let me click on profile. I just get the pop-up saying: External exception C000001D. If I restart my comp it works the first time, then stops working.

Already tried re-installing, and switching around all the settings. Any help would be nice!!  [pigtail]

Is soldat still open when you run it the second time? (Check with taskmanager)

Nope, even when I restart the comp, it will sometimes not work.

The thing that makes it weird, is that if I keep trying to open soldat is eventually works. Say I want to open it up to play a game. It will give me an access violation 9 times in a row, and then work the next time. Then it won't work the next few tries... Very annoying.

Could you give me the access violation messages?
Also did you try to download the installer again?

I tried new installer with no suck luck.
I figured because the message saying external,  it would mean some other program. I ran anti-virus, and spy-wire, etc., but nothing showed up. I also closed pretty much every program before trying to run it. Here are the violations.

I also occasionally get this one.

Too bad this kind of access violation will not help me.

You run soldat as administrator? If not please try it.
Do you play fullscreen or windowed? Have you tried both?
You had a working version of Soldat on that same pc and haven't reinstalled Windows since then?

I play windowed, but changed it to full screen and same results. I also tried changing resolution and whatnot.  I've had soldat on here for a few years, and it just randomly started happening. That's why I figure it is some outside source, but can't figure it out.

*EDIT* I found out that when using soldat clicker on mIRC it lets me into the server fine. (soldat://<server>). Not sure if this is beneficial at all.
