'2664039660' is not a valid integer
« on: December 24, 2010, 04:41:41 pm »
Everytime I start the Soldat.exe or try to join a server, I get this error message:

'2664039660' is not a valid integer.

Can anyone help?

Also, Merry Christmas

Already tried reinstalling Soldat? What specs do you run?

Yes I've already reinstalled and everything.
After reinstalling, I got to play once on a server (in window mode). Then when I re-entered Soldat in fullscreen, I kept getting that error, except this time I couldn't access any servers. And now, even in window mode, I get that error.

As for specs, maybe it shouldn't matter because I haven't had this problem before. I've been playing Soldat just fine for the past year and I've never been denied to playing like this.

Nonetheless, Windows Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 1. What else would you need to know?

Have you tried rebooting?

Sorry, maybe I should have been more specific on what I meant by help.

There are plenty of things I can TRY re/boot/install/etc./ing (some I have already done), which I can blindly try and pray for luck. What I actually need is anyone with technical knowledge of Windows or the Soldat program (or both working together) that could tell me what the message means or where its from, then I could cut down that list of re's.

It could be a program I installed yesterday or maybe some file is missing - I have no idea.

If you could narrow the possible causes down by enumerating which programmes you installed before the problem first occured we could help you easier and with greater accuracy ;)

So which of these have you done? Not too uncommonly a reboot will fix this particular error, and I see no mention of you explicitly saying you have done it so far. Process of elimination, you know?

Sorry, maybe I should have been a bit more specific on what I meant by tried rebooting: have you tried turning it off and on again? Failing that, do a clean install of Soldat.

I think the post with "REINSTALL WINDOWS!!!" aggravated me, thats all. I have rebooted and clean installed Soldat, and the same error came up.

Then strangely enough, I tried playing today and I was able to play online. Blew my mind.

had a similar issue a while ago, when i was using an old laptop (not happening any more on a newer PC). Restarts usually helped, but sometimes it stopped bugging even after simply killing some processes (can't recall what exactly, i think i just killed random non-system
stuff). Weird indeed

My issue with it went as soon as I restarted. Simple and easy here!

Just got same, popped out of nowhere. Those numbers change, no idea what do they depend on. Reboot time I see...

@low: I've said they change each time you start Soldat.

Re-logging helps, no need for full reboot(you just need to kill the processes dnmr said about).

Yup, should work - my strange integer was different to the guy who started the topic but restarting worked all the same.
