Egypt

So I assume you all heard about what's happening in Egypt, otherwise you probably live in a bigger cave than I thought.

First it was Iran, Tunisia, Egypt, and even Yemen is making protest about their problems (president, government, you know the deal).

So anyway I want to hear your thoughts on whats going on in Egypt. I've been following Twitter recently because of it, cause I'm curious to know what's going on.

Some of the Army have abandoned their stations and whatnot because they just said hell with it.

The only way I can see Marburak (however you spell it) from stepping down from his position is if the whole army comes to their senses and go against him. That's like the only real way that it could happen. 'Cause if you have the army on the side of the people, you're kinda screwed.

Its really horrible,i think that over 30 ppl died in the street protests, and if i recall right the police is going with the people now,si the army is the only thing that preserves Mubarak from the downfall.I think he is president over 15 years or so...

the army is pretty much against him, though the generals haven't really explicitly expressed any support as such. the real problem at the moment is the baltaghayyah, which are pretty much mubarak's personal paramilitary, composed of released prisoners and people who really just want to beat the shit out of a few protestors for the hell of it. by sowing the seeds of dissent indirectly, he can make this uprising look like a failure as the protestors wouldn't be 'united' because they'd be getting their asses kicked by thugs in plain clothes. it fucking disgusts me.

You guys seriusly believe the shit in the news and in the newspapers?

First of all, this paramilitary Farah was talking about is nonexistent. They're private bodyguards of the rich people of Cairo who are in favor of Mubarak. The normal military is actually against Mubarak. Mubarak had no actual power before, it's just that he realizes it very late. Egypt is lead by the military, not Mubarak.

What's up with Egypt, they quit their jobs and then go prostituting and rocking in the streets.

You're missing a big clue, Mubarak's sister's husband is the head chief of the army.
They can't turn against him, it 's not that simple.

Alright cool.

Either way he realizes he needs to step down.

I just hope this makes a big turn for arab countries, and they start developing. I don't care how, they just need to.

Plus, I'm tired of using the term third world country.

Old news is old.
I've been living with that label on my ass for 2.5 decades now, because all Arabs apparently are camel breeding imbeciles...

If Order as in:

To issue a command or instruction to.
To give a command or instruction for: The judge ordered a recount of the ballots.
To direct to proceed as specified: ordered them off the property.
To give an order for; request to be supplied with.
To put into a methodical, systematic arrangement. See synonyms at arrange.
    To predestine; ordain.

Then I guess this would apply to Barack Obama asking Maburak to do whatever he can to appease the people. But Maburak says that if he steps down then chaos will arise further.

Which is bullshit because the United States has a became. But then some official of Egypt (don't know his name), says that USA can take the "help" and shove it up their ass because he says Egypt can handle itself.

Now there are questions about Anti-Americanism.

I hope I said the correct information. Correct me if I'm wrong please.

Even though Mubarak's sister's husband is the head chief of the military, Mubarak had no power for a long time, just that he realizes that too late. That's actually why he's giving in.

No, I meant order as in letting everyone know what is what, and not keeping shit from them.
Also, I know nothing about any anti-American movements, but that's just plain bullshit on the side of the U.S, Egypt CAN handle itself.

The USA always thought they were the big "brothers" of every nation in the entire world, and they have a "responsibility" for everyone.

I think the most disturbing thing I saw was there was a merchant who sells blankets or whatever and was being interviewed, his shop is in the center where a lot of the fighting is, and he said prior to the protests he made about $100 a month to support his five children and wife(dont know if she worked). He did not mention how much he makes now but I'm sure it is a small fraction of that. Then a schoolteacher was interviewed and was b***hing that with her $13, 000 a year salary she could not afford her own home. I was stunned.
