Banana Mod v2
« on: February 10, 2011, 12:32:54 am »
Mod Name: Banana Mod version 2.0

Description: This turns every (DM and CTF) maps textures and edges very smooth and
clean as well as changes the actual maps polygons to be color coded.
The map background is black by default.

Creator: Bendarr
(with the realization that Soldat is programmed by MM to actually default to Banana)

Download: http://www.mediafire.com/?sxrae21ps98b6bj (OR -see attachment-)

Comments: If you use the mod and would like additional maps such as CS or others, please
speak up or upload the map you'd like modded  :)

Every map is color coded depending on polygon type.
 - If there is ice, it is blue. If you can move through the poly it will be teal, yellow you can
shoot through, green heals, red kills, etc etc.

It's ermmm...ohh I know it... DM map.. in a cave - might be ratcave? I can't remember offhand. actually it's Veoto xD

On-topic: I'm not sure I'd want to play with this mod personally.. I like some simple mods, but this seems too simple, making the maps look completely different.. I dunno really.

 - I've been told that on some peoples monitors it seems a bit darker than it actually should be; if that is the case try turning up your 'Gamma' in the soldat options ingame.

Your mod looks weird, but after actually trying it, its quite amazing.

It takes a little while to get used to, but the color-coded textures are very helpful... immediately seeing if you can shoot through/slide/heal on polys is superb.

I also like the big contrast of the black bg with the textures. Makes it easier to see weapons on floor, nades, player gosteks etc ;)

After trying a lot of mods, i definately will stick with your textures.

Nicely done :)

I have no idea why your modification causes my FPS lower.

Under no circumstance should ones FPS be any lower from this mod, unless your video card has difficulty displaying solid colors or something? lol.. it improves most peoples fps, including my own.

Hello Bendarr.

Great work, this is what I've been looking for under all those year while playing soldat. Could you please make it so it also mods CS maps? If its not too much to ask, could make mod all of the CS maps? Thanks :)

he didnt fix it in 1.6.1 so this mod will never be able to work again, and textures/edges automatically download now even if you have the map file. I don't feel like downloading and modding every texture/edge ever made.
