Updating of topics
« on: February 15, 2011, 03:37:32 am »
Situation:
You recently posted about something you are making. After some chit-chat about what could be done, you post, then go off for a while and post the updates the next day.
Though you try to make it a separate post, it is merely joined onto the last one (which is fair enough).
In this case I would have liked it to appear in the 'Recent Posts' section, because it might be a fair sized update but due to the current system would probably not be recognised.

Thoughts?

Thing is, the post joiner is in place to make spammy users have less of an effect when they post lots of crap consecutively, and a topic only appears to have "" content when there's a new post, not when the last post has been updated.

I realise all this, but can't the PHP be edited so that when the 'joining' process occurs, it flags it up?

But I suppose it depends on how the code for this place works...
