Thats the thing, the qaulity of calls. And the program. I found that games run slightly better with Teamspeak/Mumble/Vent then Skype.

I preffer teamspeak over skype because most of the "gaming" people preffer such software for voice to voice communication.
And why exactly teamspeak? Because it's very light both in ram and disk space usage..

But that was a long time ago, now that I have a fine PC it doesn't matter anymore.
I just got used to it..

That depends on server. Probably you were on some of poor quality. Skype is good for conversations for 2 people but when you try to make a group chat - one of the users have to be a host to that conference which results in lags (when the host has a poor connection) and host's machine is under big load. That's why TS3>Skype.
