All this bullshit about the American Dream is sickening me as well, and their system really is fucked up, but I wouldn't go as far as judging them for their history. What's important for me is that they don't start any big war which would be fatal.

IMHO, America is the most f**ked up system in the universe, I mean for crying out f**k, they don't even have an origin. They're a mix of British/French/Mexican settlers, then Portuguese, Dutch, Spaniards, Africans, and whatever other ethnicity/culture comes to mind.

Yet in some fascinating way, they're still going.

Dude, there are dumb people in any country -.- If you wish to hate USA for its past, at least be consistent and hate the politicians, not the regular crowd. The people are usually just manipulated by the ruling class, in any kind of a state.

Come'on, what kind of origin do they have? Any historian will agree with me that America's foundations lie on the graves of thieves and bandits Britain wanted to get rid off, and sent to some far off land to let them do whatever the hell they want without interfering with their business in the UK itself.
They just didn't expect them to grow so strong.

At the moment, there will be no more world wars. We're too connected right now. Not to mention, everyone is allies with everyone in some way or another and our economies rely on almost everyone. North Korea being one of the exceptions are for the most part self sufficient, however, if Kim Jong Il or his sister and wife Menta Lee Il were to be stupid enough to attack anyone, they'd end up being invaded. They have already very slowly started trickling in influence from other countries. In the early 90's they tried small scale private capitalism. Now with Kim Jong being so old, Kim and Menta Lee's son.. whatever his face, may not continue on the legacy, and end up opening the country more. He did go to western schools and has seen enough western culture to be able to compare true happiness with the "forced happiness" of the bleak and miserable North Korean culture. So in short, North Korea is becoming less and less of a threat. The people of the world are becoming more and more educated and the world is starting to realize that there are much more civilized ways of settling disputes/disagreements, than blowing the crap out of eachother.

I'm truly hoping that warfare will just be a hiccup in human history. It was the Greeks and Romans who started large scale warfare and killing. I watched a documentary, where it was speculated that before the Romans and Greeks, any large scale fights or wars were violent, however, fighting ceased at the first sight of blood. In that same documentary (I wish I remember what it was called), there was an area in Africa where tribes would do the same to this day. Disputes would normally be only arguments and yelling, seldomly they would fight and beat eachother, but as soon as there was a broken bone or blood, the fighting stopped. These were people living in the jungle, wearing barely anything. These types of people would have normally been considered "savages" not that long ago. Yet, to me, they probably have to be some of the most civilized people in the world.

Extremists are a rare commodity these days, but idiots, and extremists in power, are a common sight.
I do believe that power belongs to the people, and that they decide what happens.

Doing that is would keep the same stereotypes unchanged, wouldn't it? If you attack my country in that way you can't say anything related to it (without it's actual dead economy) compared to yours. Our past is clean, your past is pure gross, you have to live with it and its' scar it left in your "so diverse culture".
