There were a couple of similar threads some time ago, but they're several years old, so I figured I'd start a new one, for the new people.

So what's your opinion about anime? Do you like it or hate it and why? What are your favorite genres? Have you watched anything good recently? Or are you new to the whole thing and just want to know more? Post anything anime-related - questions, opinions, recommendations, your MyAnimeList accounts and stuff.

P.S. I'm mainly referring to cartoons, but if you have something to say about manga or art style in general - go ahead.

Yeah I watch anime when I don't have anything else to do.

Right now I'm watch Seto no Hanayome.

I also can't wait for the Sora no Otoshimono movie coming out this summer, going to be awesome.

If you're just starting that, good luck, but if you've been keeping up then you'll know the shit is full of fillers, just like bleach and naruto...

I watch anime from time to time, like ds dude says, when I don't have anything else to do. I became interested in and finished watching the 13-episode season of Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt when I learned it's by the same guy who did Gurren Lagann and Dead Leaves.

I hate Anime, I've lost all my respect to it after watching a few animes like seiko no qwaser..

Even if I'm an ex-weaboo I can say that I hate anime...

But I'm still watching it when I'm bored of my life(Suicide:barrely happens).
Mostly I like stuff like K-on!! Lucky star, Azumanga..
Can't wait for Evangalion 3.0 and Sora no Otoshimono movie :>

I still miss the days of playing pokemon on my game boy color, with the goofy sprites and 16bit sounds. That's the best anime ever, right there.

My opinion on anime: for porn and video games (especially vector/flash games), it's great; when it's used to show social interaction and people interacting, the acting sucks and the eyes are exaggerated.

Anime chicks have far better hair than chicks in real life do, and it's especially hilarious when the color of their head hair matches that of their other regions' hair.

most of animes are complete shit, but there are some jewels, especially movies from Ghibli studio. I also enjoyed Akira and Death Note.

I used to watch Naruto, and I started reading the manga as I caught up. I'm still pretty much up to date, but the story's fucked up now, and I can hardly be arsed. Other than that, i do watch anime movies from time to time, but usually only when I'm going to bed. Something about them is soothing and relaxing, so it helps me sleep.

I hold nothing against Anime/manga though. I used to think it was awesome, I just kinda got away from it.

Fuckin a! I came back home to celebrate my sis' birthday on friday. Spent all weekend playing Pokemon on her DS, then went out for beers, then played pokemon the next day again. 'twas indeed a good weekend.

I'm not an anime fan.
I always found it to be too unrealistic and in wayyy too many aspects, (such as plot) lame.

But have your fun, i don't hate people for liking it.

i would be so drunk that i dont know what im waching or

Although I did once watch some kind of massacre feast anime/manga (Don't know the difference yet) called Black Lagoon or something, as my cousins claimed.
Now that, that was something special.

Yesterday i've finished watching Ippatsu Kikimusume and i must say it's one of the most hilarious anime out there.

Too bad it's just 4min per episode.

What? What western animation are you referring to that is better than anime? All I saw was either feature-length animations like Dead Space, or lame kiddy series with nothing but fillers and with incredibly stupid annoying characters. o_O

That really was special, although it had its moments (specifically, "terminator maid" and those insane kiddies with white hair - IMHO that was just too showy for serious series).

I'm watching Nodame Cantabile right now. No guns and swords and violence, just uh.. pianos, orchestras and romance, but it's the best series of this kind I've seen so far. I suggest you at least check it out even if you're not a fan of those genres.
