yeah, its a shame its a bajillion times easier to use anything else, and this is not really an implement, more of a discussion, oh well.

For all maps u could make four graphics:
collision layer - polygons alternative (black/white pixels and colorful spawnpoints).
background layer - players are drawn behind this layer.
top layer - this layer is shown behind players.
parallax - background shown where collision has lime pixels, moving slower than whole map to make depth feeling.
bots - they should know how to move in map by their own.
For dynamic maps u could improve map .cfg file with all scripting.
That would remove everything: spawnpoints, sceneries, polygons, textures, polygon and scenery count limits, built-in weather (u could make ur own)..
Then, u say, it would take mooooore mb. No, if soldat would read maps from .zip or .rars.

yeah, and then future mapping of soldat would have no mappers
EDIT:
but still it would be nice if it worked like that, and then coders could make a mapmaker to easily handle the scripting of a map

Thats a whole lot of hassle to create maps. It doesn't seem that coding maps would create them any better - certainly in the same timeframe. Besides like Plonkoon said, I wouldn't want to learn a programming language just for that eithier.
I like soldat polyworks better.

So u think Anna couldn't handle scripting language to make some automated things, overlapping graphics, map preview etc? Ur belief is really great. U just don't want revolution and learn anything new nubz. I could make mapmaker based (I already got function parser..) on that but it would take 100% cpu so i want someone other to do it.

love this idea! when you should be able to programe the maps you should make much more!
the language should be named something like SML (Soldat Mapping Language).
and maybe one more language, named SSL (Soldat Server Language):

You mainly just want this so you can make a fully sutomatic map generator
. I think- no, I KNOW this would be awesome for soldat.
