Honestly, grave. :|

You know, there was a time when this was honestly what I suspected. Maybe not in 10 years time, but not very far away for sure. Funny thing, the future. It's amazing how a change of outlook on it can change the way you look at the present as well.

But where do I see myself 10 years from now? It's hard to say, 'cause I really am in a split here. For one thing, I really do want kids. I can't wait to have meself those little bundle of joys. Then again, I'm not at all looking to settle down, and with the carreer I'm taking, it's isn't likely 10 years from now either.
In september I'm gonna be studying International Business Communications, and I'm very much considering majoring in Chinese. If all goes according to plan, I'll be traveling a lot, which is really something I want in a job. Most would argue I could still support a family, but having grown up meself without a farther for half a year at a time, it's not something I would expose my own children to.

But who knows really? A lot of things can happen in 10 years.. by then I'll be 33, and I reckon it's impossible to say what will and will not happen.

For me, the job isn't essential. I see myself waking up every morning with a sense of achievement, which, if I'm honest, is something I've missed for some years now.
I fucking miss all you cunts!

Either a 31 year old virgin still living with my parents, or a 31 year old virgin living in my own apartment making money off freelance art/design stuff and a generic part-time job. Orr if I'm lucky, I might be working with some game developers on something awesome.
Oh, and I'm totally gonna get me two pet ferrets or bunnies.

Tip: Don't be getting any bunnies, they multiply faster than rabbits, and it's a pain to constantly keep getting rid of the large numbers by means of selling them or otherwise.

Good point, but another thing is, we don't even know what society will be like in 10 years, we don't even have a feint guess, let alone how we as individuals will be doing.

I for one am glad every morning that I get to wake up in in the city I've lived in most of my life, which I love, and the people that matter to me. Health is a bonus.
Every morning that I know I'm alive I realize God does exist, because sometimes the world is too beautiful to be random.

I'll be smoking a cigarette on the bastion of an Italian squatter castle, thinking to myself: "Maybe I should go home." Home... so where's home? Is it in Berlin? Is it in San Francisco? Manila? Somewhere in Thailand? Or back here in Hungary?

Then I'll mount my bike and go "Ah, fuck it, let's try another ten years of this shit", and ride off to the sunset.

I've always fancied seeing myself as an importer/exporter in Manila.

watch as none of these things actually happen. except for maybe jrgp. he is just so desperately sad that becoming the next bill gates is practically a given

if theres anything i would put faith into in this life its uncertainty. either your views or goals in life will change naturally by then or life itself will throw s**t in your way to make those things unattainable. call me a pessimist but ask the next 35 year old you meet if they are where they thought theyd be when they were young and most of them will tell you they never expected to have kids or travel or get a certain job etc. just figured you lot should at least consider that

as for me ill either have given in to the mundane and still be working in the same old shitty bar or ill have sold my story and moved to the middle of nowhere to grow and smoke weed erryday till i die. both are as likely as each other i would wager

I never tried to see myself in more than one year. Ten years are too many. I don't even want to think about it. The chance that it would come true is so tiny that I would just be disappointed.
Setting goals for one year is much better imo. At least for me. I try to live in the present...

I'll probably be an alcoholic, overweight, and str8 up fuckin laid EVERY day. I'll either be successful and rich from nepotism, or broke and nomadic. Either is cool I guess. Things are looking up for me right now though, so it's hard to say.

In 10 years?

Finished my conscription, completed get a degree in Computer Science and moved on to Digital Media Technology to learn game design in the university of my choice, and will be working to create an awesome game.

Having a goal motivates me to do something I want. I've gotten rather sick of wandering around without a purpose in mind. Even if I don't meet the goal, at least I'm not stuck feeling bored of life all the time.

Traveling the world on a bike, sending cards from every city to Trollslayer.

I'll probably have a boring 9-17 job on an office. Paying way to much tax and spending all my money in the bar every night.
I will be manager of the jrgp fanclub though!

Smarter and wiser I hope, that's all I could guess.

Everyone should stop thinking so negative, set unreachable goals that will allow you to be pushed to your limits and beyond. Just because the world is hard doesn't mean you should just give up and accept it.

set unreachable goals that will allow you to be pushed to your limits and beyond.

That's essentially my strategy for improving in anything.  "Do the impossible until it becomes possible."
Gamer_2k4

Only anime shows I've felt any interest in over the years are Pokemon (original TV series) and various hentai.
so clearly jgrp is a goddamn anime connoisseur. his opinion might as well be law here.

This. Every time you do anything, you should think about how you could do that thing differently in a way that leads you to the goals you set for yourself in life (not too differently, very small changes in behaviour can make a huge difference in the end). Also, never stick to those goals. Change them around however much you like. :)
