All the top brass don't have college degrees and Gabe said in an interview that what you've created is more important than your degree.

Companies see your degree as a slip of paper saying that you are competent. But everyone has one of those, so what sets you apart is what you've done. If you come in telling valve that you made an iphone app that sold 50,000 copies that tells them you know how to take an idea through the entire production process much more than if you say you got a 4.0 GPA.

I have one or two ideas for games. Need the knowhow to test them though. Thats what college is for!

I'll probably be a (29-30 year old) broke-ass graduate student working perpetually towards a Ph.D, a starved Artist drawing cartoon portraits of white trash at my place of employment (a carnival), or a street performer with an imported Chinese instrument made from child-labor.

Probably/Possibly married, kids are a chance, but hell if I know.  I don't like the idea of owning land/property so I'll probably be renting some place, somewhere.

Camping in that sense would be nothing more than escapism, I'm not advocating running around with nothing but a loincloth to cover your junk, that's just impractical.  Forgoing your s**tty existence for a week to be surrounded by some trees, and some highways, is simply not appealing to me.

The illusion of freedom, corporate bulls**t, loincloths, and now you've added in Politics.  I do believe if a Government is involved in your life, your world, or whatever it is that you are; you cannot, and will never be truly "free".  The problem with that, the structure a Government provides, or at least allows is necessary.

I suppose I can swap the word "freedom" for "unnecessary complication".

Actually, you can experience full freedom on a camping trip.
I tried, and it worked for me at least. I spent 22 weeks and a half in the mountains on my own a year after finishing high school, because I was sick and tired of people, and systems, and all that crap.
Now you got your facts straight, when you are still affected by any form of government directly or indirectly, you can';t have any freedom,then it is just escapism. But, when you're so deep into the forest that the government doesn't even know you exist, then you CAN have freedom, especially if you're all on your own.
And if it wasn't freedom I tasted, then it was peace of mind at the very least.
