You know what happens when you have to study for 6 finals each with 200 multiple choices and a required 2 essays which have to be 4 paragraph in length without using pronouns?

s**t happens.

I have to do this s**t in 1 hour and 30 minutes.


The essays are 40 pts which blows so much horse cock, and my history teacher does not shorten the amount of topics that might be the essay... there's 35 topics. Pretty much all wars and s**t.

Whoever thought making people do an unreasonable amount of work in high school to make it look more "prestigious" is a f**king retard. It really is, it's not like no gives a crap if your on the honor roll or not. You don't get any benefits its just a f**king ribbon they stab on your chest and maybe a pat on the back and that it. Trust me I know what I'm talking about I've been on honor roll since freshman year and I haven't gotten any s**t besides a ribbon.

Ds Dude I went to a notable (one of the top public schools in NJ) and it prepared me for college better than just about everyone I've met at college.  Essays that would have gotten me a C at best in high school got me an A+ in English 101 and my math classes in college are strictly easier than the ones I took in high school. So hang in there and then you get to enjoy the struggling of the other students.

When I was in 9th grade, they gave us prep classes for high school [10,11,12th grade], and then when during the first two years they prepped us for the 3rd, and then they did the same and kept prepping us for college during the 12th year.

It doesn't, as long as you maintain the same level of education in your college selection.  If you go to Harvard High, work like crazy, and move on to Big Bob's Bargain Bin of Diplomas, then yeah, it's going to be a walk in the park, and the prestigious HHS will feel unnecessary.

If, on the other hand, you follow up high school with a private college, it's likely it'll be just as hard or harder.  I waltzed through high school and got high honors, National Honor Society membership, great AP scores, great ACT scores, etc. etc. etc.  Then I went to a private engineering college and it freaking kicked my butt.  I'm done now and I have my diploma, but college was a LOT of work for me.

It doesn't need to do anything but that.  As you continue through life, you'll learn that nothing you do in high school means jack squat.  It's really just a stepping stone to the stuff that does matter.  Being on the honor roll gets you scholarships and helps you get into good colleges.  That's its whole point.  Once you graduate college, your degree and GPA help you get your first real job.  After that point, future jobs are won through real life experience, not GPAs and honor rolls.

So cheer up.  These things have their purpose, limited as that purpose may be.  Once you accept that they're simply parts of a much larger system, perhaps all of this will be a little easier to accept.

But truly, I went to an elementary school that did the same thing, in concept. In the last two years of elementary school, we'd write at least one essay a week, and had spelling and grammar lessons like none other, and then in middle school, we wrote like, what, 3 essays a year? It was pathetic. School didn't actually get hard for me again until around the second half of 10th grade and beyond.
