ive updated my drives its ATI im not sure about direct x everything works fine but when i press escape in game it does the you gained 5 ooints youve unlocked a new gun and your now a tent camper windows but then its just black

I got this problem too, and all my drivers are updated :/
Maybe it's because I didn't update my windows?

Are you able to hear a little sound tune when you get the message?
Try to update Windows Media Player to the latest version, or simply reinstall it.

Then something is seriously messed up with your video card drivers.
The case may be that your card is so old that the latest drivers doesn't support it to 100%. Try to get some old drivers for your card and install them.

Played, and realized... sorry to say this chap, but very poorly done. the lampposts in one level are sprites, whereas they'd do off better as models. Same goes with the sign that always stares at you.

The best part about the game though is the effective menu, extraordinarily well done saving system, and the check for updates buttahn. Those are good. (Along with the mindless beaver deaths)

Hahahaha, "well done saving system."  Yup, must've been real difficult to write code that just copies your name and the number of kills you have to a text file.

Yeah, we had to hire a whole team of expert programmers to make the save system. We had them work day and night for over a year, and after lots of blood and tears it finally worked. We've never been so happy ever before!

And the point of the game is that it should look crappy. Some people realise the charm in a Doom-style shooter with one-way sprites. But it's all up to personal preference.

By the way, hang in there for multiplayer support...
