Not angry, it's just frustrating when the last to "updates" 1.5.1 and 1.6, try to redo amazing maps, and call them better/updated maps.

Snakebite is an amazing map, and the remake is 100% worse than the original.

Basically, this is coming from a person who has seen games die, and slowly die at that, when you have a game with a dwindling fanbase, and you take the soul of the game; The maps, away from the players who have played and learned the maps, inside and out, they no longer want to play that game because you just removed the maps that they have always liked/loved.

Maps that are horrible renditions of their previous; ctf_Ruins, ctf_Snakebite, ctf_Kampf, ctf_Lanubya, ctf_Skorpion, ctf_Dropdown, ctf_Run... and that's just off the top of my head.

If you wish to add newer, "better" default maps, then look for maps that meet the requirements to be a default map. IE, don't change a perfectly good map that someone spend time on and was lucky enough to get that map into soldat. It doesn't make any sense for you to replace Great maps with "renditions". It's tacky, ugly, and rude at the original map makers expense.

So I, along with many others would PREFER AND LIKE if you would leave maps alone, and add NEW default maps that are good enough to be added.

Thanks.

@dardar I have a job, and a brain. ysosrs?

Angry, frustrated - same thing really..

I agree that many of the remakes are rather pathetic but there are some good ones as well. You're probably just not used to them, so try playing on them some longer and maybe you'll change your mind. Me and quite a few others liked ctf_Kampf remake. But yeah, I can understand why many of them aren't liked. :/
I'm sure the mappack will be fixed soon though. Maybe even in the next hotfix.

I've just noticed a bug when OldScoreBoard in soldat.ini is enabled. I transffered textures,mods, profiles etc from 1.5.1 so it could be some text error[i think not]

1.6

1.5

both screens taken when playing on a CTF server

Does the same happen when you aren't or there aren't spectators?

Why is it even though I tried re-registering with my key, the game still says "Unregistered version"?

I'm having the same DirectX bug as others, so I don't know if this is related.

I had the same error when i inserted the wrong resolution as in: selecting a resolution your monitor doesnt support.

So that might be the problem

Reporting bug - after downloading a map, I spawn in a polygon or in the enemy base the first time.

Polybugs seem to be worse in realistic, but explosions no longer kill through thick walls - good job on the second.

Read the previous posts. It's a bug that will be fixed in the next hotfix.

<DutchFlame`> i once heard running runescape in the background gave you a speedboost
<Mr> yes, it allocates more electrons, so there are more electrons available for Soldat -> they are streched less and it is more fluent

Well, i launch soldat, but this error appears.

Nobody can explain this error to me, so i post. :/
I execute soldat in administrator mode, nothing happens.
All Compatibility modes, nothing happens.
I restart my PC before and after the instalation, nothing happens...

I don't use pirated Soldat.

Code: [Select]
...

dist : double;
speed: single;

...

DrawText(ID, 'Distance: '+floattostr(roundto(dist,2))+chr(13)+chr(10)+
'Speed: '+floattostr(roundto(speed,2)), 90, RGB(255,255,255), 0.08, 20,410);

As you can see RoundTo() rounds the value but it doesn't remove trailing zeros (I'm pretty sure it did in 2.6.5)

EDIT: Happens only on Win, on Linux zeros are removed.

Bug:

When I tab out of the game (alt+tab) soldat is moved to the last position in the tab index. That means I cannot switch fast between Soldat and any other programm.

Fancy pictures to make myself more understandable:

The mIRC icon moved to soldat's place. The soldat icon is now on the end of the list. That happens when I switch out of soldat

well, you can by using alt+shift+tab... but I agree it's annoying...
