Hello everyone!

It's time for another status update!

There wasn't much activity after the release of the hotfix.
It's basically down to me vs the Soldat sourcecode.

I improved the bugtracker integration in our source control tools (aka you can click on #BUGID texts when you browse the sourcecode changes) but thats nothing you will notice :P

What I also did was to remove the BETA text label you see in soldatserver. Again nothing big.
A big thing that you will not notice at all is that I merged two 10k+ line long files into one which took me 2 days - aw.
We still have to merge a few files (netcode files) and then we need to clean it up even more :S.

You might wonder why we even have to do this. Well it's because when we started working on Soldat we had different server and client versions. And also you might remember that the server was always not in sync with the client server.
It's not a lot of fun to do it but someone has to do it...

In the other news:

As de Espada got access to the Soldat resources repository and is helping us with maps and the map changelog. Thanks!

Oh, and I made a temporary roadmap for Soldat:

1.6.3
- Add unit tests  -- code that will test our functions we code, as you want us to add less bugs ;)
- Sync netcode units  -- really annoying when you change things on the server and then it's not fixed on the client
- *DONE* Sync sprite unit  -- wow that was annoying
- use new translation system (gettext)  -- much cleaner when you can use _('The game, you lost it') instead of GameText[9001]
- FEATURE: Ingame Idle/Chatting indicator (see teeworlds)  -- at least one feature for the next version ;P to keep you happy


With 1.6.2 there are new texts to translate! Please tell the translators about it :>

For sure the best brazilian mapper, and one of my Top 5 worldwide.

Shoozza, congratulations on your work. I know netcode is really "piss-offable", but it's necessary :P

Will it be shown above the soldat player?
Make sure that it won't be shown above a soldat player if he is camping and stuff that can make his enemies notice him and kill him...


Also I got one question that many of us wish to ask...
When are you going to fix the "Eat" bug? :3
The safest thing to do is jumping out of a plane!

In teeworlds it is shown above the player when you type.
It has to be invisible when you play realistic ofc :P (only show it if player is visible)

Eats will take a while as the netcode needs to be synced and then cleaned up which is a lot of work :S so I cant tell you when its finished

I doubt syncing alone will help getting rid of them or merely mitigating "eats". Of course that's the thing to do before really changing anything on the netcode.
