Quote from: zakath on December 14, 2011, 04:17:21 pmtry this one.It does exactly the same thing. Thanks for trying to help, but I think I'll just give up and miss out on Soldat. This hwid thing sounds silly to me anyway. I'm sure the Admins will love being able to identify (and ban) a unique id, but it will probably just end up punishing innocent players. I already have a retail game that, within months of buying, I'm struggling to play because I'm banned from all the popular servers. Now the only servers I can join are the ones that have never had an admin, but they are always empty. It has a much larger playerbase than Soldat, so I think I'll skip this same experience for a second time.Apart from that, when you ban a hwid, you're not just banning whoever is currently playing, but everyone who uses that machine, and anyone who might use it in the future, or buy it, or some of the hardware. Even if the ID's are genuinely unique because they read serial numbers or something, I'm sure if a hacker can create an AI system that can "see" and automatically aim perfectly at other players, he can probably fake a few numbers to the hwid program. Or, they can simply swap hardware to bypass the ban (even I have some old HDDs and graphics cards lying around, no good for modern games, but more than powerful enough for Soldat). Thanks anyway, I'm sure it would have been fun.
now this...and this
