Weekly update (2011-10-22) Beta team, dev team
« on: November 22, 2011, 01:12:07 am »
Hello everyone,

I know I'm a bit late with the weekly update but I have good news.

Last week a few people volunteered to be part of the beta team. We have freestyler working on the documentation.
He currently works on a better Soldat manual.

There are a few translators and also some testers (though we still miss a few of them).
We have Russian, Hebrew, Turkish, Polish, French and Estonian translators.
So if you want to help translating or if you translated Soldat in the past PM me (doesn't matter which language you did).

In addition to new beta team members we have a new dev team member, tmtgr!
Since the activity was pretty low lately and I'm busy for the next weeks it doesn't seem such a bad idea to add another dev.
It took me a few hours to setup the Soldat stuff with him so I really hope it pays of.

Well you probably want to know how the development is going.
We have some new problems with the bot AI and the client server.
Seems like my merging of server and client files added new errors...

Well thats everything for now.

It's funny how ex-hackers like tmtgr, Mr, and (supposedly) enesce, all turned good and started working on Soldat for the better. Reminds me of Starwars' darkside and jedis. :D

Let me stop you there, there will be time for fixing bots in future versions. Now why don't you focus on things people want to see fixed okay? :)

The point is that, how can we trust soldat and anti-cheat stuff at all with these guys developing it?

really explain shoozza

Because every developer can see every other developer's changes to Soldat, which makes it kinda hard to sneak in stupid stuff there. (No way you can trust Mr though, he's one sneaky bastard! (jk))
...PC vs Mac is like AK47 vs M4A1...
<DutchFlame`> i once heard running runescape in the background gave you a speedboost
<Mr> yes, it allocates more electrons, so there are more electrons available for Soldat -> they are streched less and it is more fluent

Actually hackers are (one of) the most capable people to develop anything. They usualy need deep understanding of how things work and how to modify it.

And I agree with Fryer
... every developer can see every other developer's changes to Soldat, which makes it kinda hard to sneak in stupid stuff there ...

Lol what's the point of weekly updates if no1 plays anymore. Haha I love the joke of the forum now.

Please ban this guy. He's insulting the dev team, every soldat player and the truth in general. Soldat is being played, and it is being developed.

Seems like you're angry about something scarface. You can tell us about your problems if you want. But troolling on forum isn't the right idea.

@Bone: There should be "total". I don't really want to calculate it myself xD
