Keylogger
« on: November 24, 2011, 12:33:12 pm »
Several times i have had my account stolen over night for WoW, i know by now i have a keylogger on my computer but avast wont find it. i found on my IE(i use crome) that there is internet history on there regarding the WoW launcher, and a few notepad files i had used to store my passwords (figured it would throw off the keylogger, Cope paste passwords) and thats all thats on my history.

Since i found that, is there a way i can find where the keyloggers source is?
Holy Poop!

usually they are started from HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Currentversion\run or HKCU\SOFTWARE\...
in regedit. so I would first look there if I were you ut you can probably only be sure to get rid of it by reinstalling windows.

- Format Windows

- Don't play WoW

- Don't store your passwords in a text file, or at least encrypt them in some way (or write vague words that only you would associate with a specified password).

Most keyloggers are smart enough to monitor your clipboard, so copy-pasting wouldn't work.

We use this at work for keeping passwords somewhat safe on our desktop workstations - http://keepass.info/

I read that as keep ass. I'm sure everyone else did.

Use spybot search and destroy, hasn't failed me yet: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/home/index.html
