Come on, why not?  Some people may think that a weapon that doesn't do damage is useless, but think about it.  In bunker wars in realistic mode, a smoke grenade into a bunker followed by a frag nade and a flurry of weapon fire could make for effective clearing tactics.  Me and my friend LorDKnighT thought of this a while ago, and I just now remembered it.
To sum up my point: We had a multipage debate about toilet padding. (Putting TP in the water so you don't get splashed.)
And we still don't know if dead guys can keep a stiffy.

meh...would they replace the normal nades and cluster nades? maybe if u could cycle thru all the different nades u have, cuz i like my nades to do damage to ppl.

I guess it could be quite intresting. I just hope there's no lag like the Smoke Bomb in CS 1.5.

In realism mode, enemies behind you are invisible...could there be a flashbang that would make enemies in front invisible as well?  Would that be too cheap? Too useless (have to be too near to throw)?

I think this is a brilliant idea. For those of you who wan't your grenades to actually do some harm, how about this:
If you get hit by a smokegrenade, or the smoke coming out of it, your crosshar will grow big, making it really ahrd to aim. Like selfbing with the barret and stuff?

Not in a traditional way, but it can work in a Commandos II kinda way :P

In realistic, you can't see beyond walls, right? The smoke would rise straight up for maybe an inch, and people on either side of it wouldn't be able to see eachother.

Sure, campers could hide. But they wouldn't be able to see on the other side of the smoke either, so it would be of little use for'em. Besides, as soon as you see smoke, you know that something is wrong. I would definitely fire a couple of shots at it just to be sure.


EDIT: ...Which brings me to another great feature this could have - Diversion.

Smoke grenades would be an excellent secondary or just a pickup. You could use them to make the enemy think your behind the smoke and then sneak attack from above or behind or somthing.

I really like the idea of using smoke grenades as a binking weapon.  Think about it: toss a grenade in the enemy base, grab the flag while your opponants are missing their shots (bink), and get out of there.  They could be a powerup like clusters.  Besides, a flame god in the base is MUCH worse.  This idea could work.

Ech....to me that's a bad idea. I think normal nades are fine...there are so many nade spammers in soldat already think of what will happen with smoke grenades? For example this one map (cant remember it but it's an earlier map) people always throw nades down a little chute and bomb the flag to all oblivion. sorry but I don't support the idea.
