Soldat Freezing
« on: December 28, 2011, 02:58:49 am »
Ive already tried all the options in Config (renders,bitrates and stuff - checking unchecking).Ive only got my FPS higher from 60 to 200-300 thanks to unchecking fullscreen and set gamesize window on 100% but its still freezing and I rly dont know why.Maybe its becouze my ATI graphcard.You probably wont have any good advices for me BUT - If you have your Soldat fully playable and you have ATI graphcard. PLEASE ---> WRITE HERE YOUR SETTINGS IN CONFIG. Thanks :)

Ok I already know what exactly makes this freezes.If you can imagine ingame..When somewhere is some fight and explosions your screen would normaly shake a little as warrning that near of you is someone going to kill you (for example).What im going to say is that "little shaking" is transforming to that FREEZES i thought.I also reduced this freezes a little but its not still a comfort HELP :X

One thing about ATI cards in Manual is:
http://static.soldat.pl/man/manual-en.html#OPCJE
Quote
Blank Screen while bonus fix (old ATI cards) - fixes the problem with the blank screen if you take Berserker for example.

Tried this? http://forums.soldat.pl/index.php?topic=13.msg19

Also, go http://bugs.soldat.pl and try to find the bug you have. If there's no shit like that - make a report about yours.

Btw. don't make more than one topic about the same thing...

I have another problems which arent written there..Im getting freezes I reduced it on minimum thanks to setting the lowest details which are possible except Bitrates (32) and Text Reso filters.Its now the best option for me.Here is my Config now ---

1.Vsync-Antialiasing = OFF
2.Fullscreen ON
3.High Reso Timer ON
4.Video Adapter = default
5.Bitrate 32 Refresh rate = default
6.Resolution 1280x1024 (i have 26p monitor)
7.Particles on screen = Even less
8.Renders OFF except bullet trails and Death console
9.Troubleshooting= all OFF
10.Backbuffercount = 2
11.Text and Reso filters = linear

Thats it but still a little freezing

I basically have the same problems on one of my computers, using windowed mode 640x480, with resizing to 95 %, fps limiter to 60, and high resolution timer and it works somewhat ok. vsync is a bit smoother then using fps limiter however it can be affected by stuff like msn/skype etc stealing focus and reducing the fps createting "freezing" also when using fullscreen you automatically get vsync so try windowed+fps limit. however the problem comes down to soldat running on directx 8 which is basically emulated in newer versions of windows.
