Sure, you can play the game at a very high level with just "basic" movements (it'll still be better than every public player).... But, it definitely gives you an advantage if you know how to move.If you think that speed running doesn't work in competitive matches? well, it's good enough for gathers, and with time it's gonna work for clan wars (if soldat lives that long)....Anyway, so, this is what running may look like in an actual game http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlc9pLI40K8I'm not too great at running, and this was all recorded in about 4-5 gathers from 1 night. So yeah... running definitely have some space in soldat.

That is skill definitely from learning the maps, but until you start doing more flips and rolls you'll make the drifting pointless because you won't have speed. The part on Division wasn't too bad when you got the flag and capped it, but you coulda been faster than that. I'm not a "speed runner" I just have been playing CWs for a long time and like you, have learned how to move on maps to my advantage.Like the others are saying.
