i'm posting it here since it would actually improve the game if someone who knew anything about soldat was in charge of the weapon mod.

despite countless and numerous suggestions and posting many problems with the current balance, somehow every new version it gets worse and worse. this current, 1.6.3, is almost unplayable as it is.

there is a severe problem here, and i'm asking that someone who knows what they are doing is placed in charge of the weapon mod.

Heh, I knew the topic like that will be created. Maybe I would make a one if I didn't skip playing newest version of Soldat to the time.

You mean about Real or damn Normal...? Both maybe?

me and many other players have outlined ways to improve the weapon mod for both realistic and normal mode but they are constantly ignored and the weapon mod is made worse.

I'm sorry to hear that. I haven't been following the weapon mod discussion because I play way to less Soldat to decide on what needs to be changed.
Currently Skoskav does the weapon mod. We however had a weapon mod team. I think there was a devlog post about who was in it.

I strongly suggest you get in touch with them.

it's trending with higher damage weapon... which imo is making it worse.

Anyway... the bigger issue is that there are damage modifiers... there's no skill involved in getting a hs or body shot, as the lag will just decide on random which it is.

Yes I noticed that. Every new version, weapons get more and more powerful.
Making the gameplay a little bit slower each time.

I think that,
The more powerful the weapons are => the more people will defend and camp.
If the weapons dealt less damage => there would be more space for speed running and tricks. And more rushing. Faster, more exciting fast-paced gameplay.

Also it seems that some obvious issues have been forgotten in this new revision. Such as:
-The minigun dealing too much damage.
-Or the spaz with it's too long range.


Also I am convinced that tweaking only the settings of the weapon.ini will not achieve a satisfying result.

The way the weapons work should be tweaked as well.
For example:
-The amount of boost and push provided by the m79, the spaz, the nades and the autos is too high. 
-The way the chainsaw is working ( with the two bullets ) is not satisfying.

Anyway... the bigger issue is that there are damage modifiers... there's no skill involved in getting a hs or body shot, as the lag will just decide on random which it is.

I tend to agree with that. There is a lot of luck involved indeed.  ( especially if players have high ping 150+ )
But I wouldn't say there is no skills involved tho. With a perfect aim you'll get more body and head shots.

Hello,

first let me say that this topic is a completely wrong approach.
Showing your frustration through insulting them in any way is NOT working.
I am glad we have a weapon mod test team who surely spent a longer time testing and discussing about it.
Their time and work must be valued.

The main points were recognized in my opinion. I could agree on every change made in the realistic weapon balance.
The changes were only a bit shy, +4 bink to the ruger doesn't change a thing for me.
Today I fully sprayed a ruger guy with my mp5, after 5-6 hits he still could headshot me without problems.

One thing we need not to forget. Soldat has many, many gamemodes.
We complain about a weapon being too strong in TW, while it's weakest in CTF. The style of game, and the style of mapping does a lot.
Shouldn't we start to create different weapon modes for different game modes?
If this is too much work for the team (as I assume), the community around it must decide.
We cannot rely on one mode fitting to so different game modes.

Not only a bit. Spas is still dominant, and ruger... is still precise, like it should be
And yes, I'm still against bink. Ruger should be balanced, but come on, bink? The worst method to balance a gun out: Bit buggy, has a 33% chance to hit where intended, and it carries on to secondary weapon.

Yea, there was a huge topic about Spas and it's still fucked up. -1 dmg Phi! What will change it if Spas shots with 7 bullets (118 dmg each)?

If the angst concerns the realistic mode balance then there's no one to "fire" from that position. No one has touched that thing for years and years. I can understand if that upsets. We really need someone unbiased and experienced on the team who can work on that. As I've only played a handful of realistic games since its introduction, and do not understand it's appeal, I only did slight touches on it for the 1.6.3 beta based on the median of the feedback I saw.

If it regards the normal mode balance then I'd love to hear your thoughts, especially why you feel it gets worse each version.

mp5 was already underpowered, only on a few maps it was better due to arc... otherwise steyr beats it in all situations.

AK should be -1 dmg again... and rather than trying to change the damage, you should decrease the push back made by all autos by 25%, and remove all push back made from minimi.
