SNI Climb Mappack #1 (12/7/2012)

Hello.

I am now the head admin of SNI Pro Climb EU and I collected decent amount of climbmaps.
So I decided to pack all these maps and release this climbpack for all climblovers!

There are over 2000 climbmaps in this pack together with rce maps,coop maps and few mountain climb maps.
These maps are mix of old sni mappack, other old mappacks, kalaf mappack and maps I have gathered during my climbing process.
You can also find there new maps created by great mapmakers as Psycho, Sczurczysta(rat), Vince Bro, Kalaf...

There may be few nonclimb maps(sorry for that  , tried hard to sort it out), duplicate maps, inferior maps and also maps with not working bounce and teleport.
I am working on fixing the rest of not fixed bounce maps and also working on teleport fixing.

If you find any of these broken maps in the mappack, do not hesitate to contact me, so I can fix them or eliminate.
If you play on SNI and you chance on broken map, then you can use !report command.
This would help me a lot .

I am waiting for the refined SNI pack
I made a program that identifies all the maps that are using old bounce and teleports, the bounce cleaner. You should try to use it.
Also, you should post a list of all the maps that are in the mappack. (I guess that your mapslist.txt should do)

Soooo i noticed ctf_bn_tika has nazi symbolism, that map shouldnt be part of soldat imo.

Porn does noone offend, porn is nice 

But what about nazi symbols? right... they do offend some people and arent nice.

There's hundreds of Blue Ninja's traced hentai polygon maps and while most of them are shit, probably one of them is great and it has a right to exist in the history of climb mapping.

Both should'nt at all.... who makes maps with such stuff does the mistake himself.

You shouldnt defend nazi symbols and porn just for the fact one (or more) of them are great.
There's other maps which dont have nazi symbols and are still awesome.

I saw the map. The swastika is so big that it's hard to identify unless you open a map editor.
About the discussion, IMO unless it's clearly a praise to the nazi it shouldn't be censored.

I didn't check the map and don't plan to.
But I agree, there is no need for this kind of stuff, we don't want to attract this group of people.
It might sound exaggerated but I don't want to see the game banned in Germany because of such stuff.

As an example: XBox live bans people if they use such symbols in their name tag http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swastika#Media
so it's not a non issue.


Therefore I would like to either change the map to not include swastika or remove it from the map pack.
Since it is large it shouldn't be a problem to replace it.


As for porn: I'm not a big fan of such stuff in Soldat.
You have to think about who is the target group and who starts playing Soldat. It is definitely not the core part of the game experience and
should not be promoted on the forums here. While it might not seem like a big deal to most people I certainly like to keep the forums free of such stuff.
I think the community would be more inviting without it.

If you've been reading carefully, you'll see that he's defending the symbol being used as the basis for a climb map layout and not the nazi idealism people have come to despise.
