So I was on the U13 server (I dont like it much but Leos was full  ) and I was at INF_fortress..I was about to die so I threw the flag to a teammate and to my misfortune it didnt completely make it to him...Now I got a bit lucky and lived so I decided why not let him cap it...he just stood there. getting shot at from a minigun and an ak I was laying down in a safe spot with no bullets there. I typed "GET THE FLAG!"....I eventually died and he just said..."are u sure" then a suicidal M79er ran straight into him and blew up....I know it isnt that great of a story...it's funny if you think about it though.

He probably had a past experience where a teammate died and he got the flag and capped, only to have the teammate yell at him for "stealing his cap". I hate people that do this. It's a team game for crying out loud, you're supposed to work together to do what benefits your team, not just you. There's nothing wrong with capping when the flagger dies, and you should always do so if you can. Ignore any idiots who think that it belongs to them. Have fun, and do what you gotta do for your team.

This includes TKing any morons who run off with the flag and hide somewhere while your flag is still in your base.  I had to do that once.  The moron just sat there intentionally not returning the flag, and tried to kick me when I shot him.

I agree, else you risk losing the flag and the points altogether. They died on the flag once; they'll do it again.

I tell you, it sucks when your teammates are stupid.  Just the other day I was playing on ctf_B2b.  I was running along the bottom route, being chased.  Just as I got to my base, I saw a teammate waiting there.  I threw the flag to him just before I died.  He took the flag and stood there.  Naturally he died, the flag was returned, and our flag was captured.  Ah well.  Too often I make the mistake of thinking people know what they're doing.

I think it's actually good that someone takes the flag when you're the ffc and you die. It makes the game feel more teamwork-based, which it should be in the first place, and altogether it becomes more enjoyable. Unfortunately, you don't see it very often.
