Speed Demos Archive, the home to video game speed runs, is proud to present a special speed running marathon:Awesome Games Done Quick, a 7-day online event played to raise money for cancer prevention research, and streamed live for you to watch! We're plowing through over 110 games in just over 150 hours using nothing but our skills and plenty of speed tricks. Like always, all games are being played on their original hardware with no cheating, and most also feature commentators giving highlights along the way. While we play, we're accepting your donations to the Prevent Cancer Foundation, our partner for this event. We will be streaming the entire marathon on SDA's homepage via Twitch TV for you to watch at home. The 7-day stream will be running until evening on January 12th (EST)! I've been watching that for some time, its a great cause and has alot of excellent speedrunners in there. One of the Super Metroid pros, Garrison, was one of my personal favorites who showed up and demonstrated his talents during the run - beating the game with a 'slow' time of about 49 minutes...

This run is almost over, its going to end on saturday, but they've already amassed a whopping total of $300K dollars! If you want to have a good time contributing to the fight against cancer, and enjoy some amazing speed runs of many games across many platforms, then you should stop on by....

You can browse videos through there to skip to your favorite game records immediately and see if you could've done better back in your time. Titles show you the game name, platforms and the fastest speed run time. For instance, I mean, wow:
