DOMINATION [game mode]

Hello again
I was thinking with friend,  it would be a good idea to add a new game mode called Domination. The name and the idea of this mode is taken out from Unreal Tournament.

"The objective of Domination is to control three different checkpoints until the game limit is reached. The more checkpoints a team holds, the faster the points will be given to that team. If a team controls no checkpoints, no points will be given. A team can get a checkpoint simply by touching the checkpoint. The opposing team can touch the checkpoint at any time to take control of it. The first team to reach the game limit wins"

Soldat is fast paced game, just like unreal tournament, so it could be very good idea.
But in my opinion, maps should be as big as CTF_run_old
So, what do you think about this?

There has already been a scripted gamemode called Domination that was released with a couple of maps to the public years ago. Try using the forum's search function for more information on it. Maybe you can set a server up and see how it is accepted by today's players?

Ohhh, I apologize for not using the "search" option before creating a topic. But why Domination mode died. Maybe players just forget about this mode. I bet it really is a cool mode, and definitely I will try it.

Well it could definitely replace the never not even once played Pointmatch gamemode. Reason for Domination's failure, the way I see it, was that people planned it out for two domination points only. (I vaguely remember this being the case) When theres two domination points and two teams, it's eventually going to feel pretty close to what CTF is like. However when there's a layout like (dm) Arena with three asymmetric control point locations and randomized team spawn points that's when the game gets tricky and interesting. Having three CPs instead of two makes players move more by default.

Weren't you the guy with the same idea, who was later linked to the "Domination Promo" movie about a week ago in "SOLDAT" group at vk.com?

I absolutely agree with you, three CPs will make this mode more dynamic. Next thing is that (not must be) ,the control points changes to the teams color after touching it.
