Geologist, have you read through the Bible? All your questions are addressed in scripture, but I can't guarantee the answers will satisfy an agnostic. According to scripture, contemplating is a sin.

According to which scripture?  The ones that have been edited by man?  The ones that have been compiled from texts that people in positions of power deemed right or convenient?  It's too bad the original isn't around, because that's the only one I'd care to read.

Anyhoo...if contemplation is a sin then we're all going to hell.  I, for one, don't think that God would be so short minded or cruel to condemn people for the mere act of contemplation (even if it is written is down on paper). 

However, if you disagree with me, answer this: Is playing a porn video back in your mind a sin, or is only watching it one?

That...really has nothing to do with the issue at hand, which is the contemplation of God and all his splendid wonderfullness.  And I'd like a quote on that stripture as well.

Also, this is my last post in this topic.  I'd love to hash it out more if someone starts one in the lounge or this one gets moved, but this is not the place for what could be a neverending debate.

Second, you wouldn't get banned for asking Flies if he could ban himself.  Not a very apt analogy.

And third, why would God, should he even exist, give us things like free will and the ability to think for ourselves if we couldn't ponder such questions?  That's just short minded and silly.  Merely thinking about the issue isn't the same as doubt either.

It's not that I don't care, I have yet to hear an answer that sounds believable or reasonable.  So go for it.

Your question is meaningless, simply because space is where something exists.  Therefore, nothing can be on the "other side."  If you move something to an area where nothing exists, that new area becomes space.

God can't do everything.  That's a common misconception.  He can't learn.  He can't sin.  When asking these questions, you have to remember that God is not a human.  Questions like this are irrelevant, because God is not a physical being.

3. Do people see different colours? i.e. My green might be your blue, or my black would be your white. And if so, can they see different colours that do not appear in my personal colour spectrum???

Does it matter?  I assume people see the same colors, since their optical nerves and other physiology related to seeing are the same, and the light waves are the same.  But even if people see different colors, it doesn't matter, since no one else will be able to see it, no one will ever know if they are different, and people can still communicate about color.

4. When will the throne of the magic Tom Cruise be overtaken?

It's being overtaken as we speak.  I heard someone (was it Universal) canceled their contract with him because he was becoming a scientology nut.

I apologize, I must have skimmed over your post. According to my pastor's interpretation, it depends on how you're thinking about it. It you visualize it, it is. In other words, sensuality, other than marriage, is sin!

Ok about if thinking is sinning... If you really want to do and its not just a passing thought, you dwell on it and ponder it, then you have already commited the sin you where thinking of in your heart. Ok check this out, your in a store and you see a hot girl, now just glancing at her and checking her out, which most people do naturally, no sin at all.  If you stop and stare and begin to lust after her... yeah sin just happened.  Basically this keeps you in check, if you are just watching women and lusting after them everytime you see them then sooner or later your gonna act off that.

Ok guys, my theory is that there isn't multiple universes, but there are a large amount of earths, and other planets. BUT I think this because the universe is so large and vast, anything is possible.

Do you understand what I mean? In one part of the universe there are unicorns and jelly beans coexisting in a desert enviroment. Then in one part of the universe there's Oprah as president.

Dascoo, here's how the theory currently works: since there are an infinite number of universes, that means that there is a universe for every possibility.  Ie., in the same way that an infinite number of monkeys with an infinite number of typewriters will eventually type out the complete works of shakespeare; with an infinite number of universes, anything that can be imagined must exist in at least one.  There can be universes without gravity, for instance (in fact, one model shows that the gravity we see in our universe is actually leaking over from another one close to us, which is why gravity is so weak compared to the other forces we see).

Another interesting facet of this theory is that if we assume that some fraction of those universes must contain life, then there are an infinite number of lifeforms out there since any fraction of infinity is still infinity.

So, in a way, that's your theory.  However, yours is inherently flawed because our universe, by itself, is not infinite, which means that there can't be an infinite number of possibilities (or earths) as we would see with an infinite number of universes.
