I think I know enough about christianity to know that it's stupid, but still, it teaches you to be kind to other people.

Am I a Christian? Yes.  Does Christianity help society? Yes.  Is it the one true religion?  Hard to say.  Is there a Heaven and a Hell?  Hard to say.

I am a Christian, and I try to follow the Bible, since it explains how to get into Heaven.  On the other hand, everyone else is following their own religions in the belief that they will go to heaven too.  Also, it doesn't seem fair that people who never learn about Heaven or Hell are condemned to the latter.  I choose to stick to the Bible, because it has a good deal of fulfilled prophecy that's more than just guesses, and much of the information in it can be scientifically proven, or at least there's evidence for it.

Everyone has a questioning inside them, the feeling we are not alone, the feeling there is something bigger then you watching over you, or just the feeling of emptyness inside you. It drives someone to ask questions, some people, like alot of the people in these forums go after science to asnwer their questions.  Others will go to religion, and also some jsut do nothing about it at all.  Why do you think there are so many theories to how life started or why there are so many theories about how the earth was made, also the number of religions around the world.  People just want answers really.  Also if you do read the Bible then you know God never wanted us to leave the garden, where he walked with Adam.  Adam and Eve did it, used that little thing called free will God gave us.

It really bother me if someone I don't really know that much believes in it, but if it's a good friend, I'll try my hardest to get him to open his eyes. Most of the time, they are just christian because there family is. I've got 3 friends to actually think for a second, THINK! Most of the time, they just think that there family will abandon them.

and i understand why they live with god, i accept mostly any religion.
also dascoo, i dont agree with the oppinion that we're on top because basicly nothing is on top. actually the whole galaxy is a chunk of quants. nothing else.
otherwise it is quite dumb to insist on such a theory because you only live once. live your life, it's fun
with or without god, i dont care, as long as you don't go nuts for him.

Its annoying to me a person like you would try to made his friends think differently, I have friends that aren't christians but I don't make them think anything. I state my beleifs for what they are, my beliefs. If tehy have questions they can come to me. Just cause YOU think something is right doesn't mean it is right.

That's arguable. In the USA they try to force their beliefs on other people (for example, in Texas, nobody is allowed to run for public office unless they believe in the "existence of a superior being"; and numerous school boards trying to teach "Intelligent Design" as an acceptable scientific theory). The Crusades were mostly supported by the Catholic church. The KKK was made up primarily of Protestants.

Christians themselves may help society, but surely this is because of the people they are, not because of their religious denomination.

I have to agree with you here Dascoo.�  If someone thinks they're a Christian because of their family, that does them no good.�  They need to consider what they believe, instead of just assuming that they're a Christian.�  And if they turn Evolutionist, well, I suppose that's no worse (eternally) than believing incorrectly that they are a Christian.

Numerous school boards are also trying to teach Evolution as an acceptable scientific theory.�  The problem is, there are two sides to everything.�  You could say there was nothing, then a Big Bang created everything.�  You could also say there was nothing, then God created everything.�  Both of those are a matter of faith.�  You could say the Grand Canyon was carved over millions of years by a river.�  You could say it was carved in about 30 seconds by the Genesis flood.�  You could say adaptation is proof of evolution.�  You could also say that it was proof of intelligent design.�  Lucy could be an ancient human.�  Lucy could also just be a monkey (there were no hand or foot bones, and the skull was crushed beyond recognition).�  However, I don't believe there is sufficient accurate evidence or scientific backing to support evolution in its entirety.�  Obviously there's not enough support to completely support creation either.�  But we are constantly finding more evidence for creation, and finding more mistakes about evolution.

I did read the information on the site for about 30 minutes.�  Unfortunately, many of the author's statements are simply wrong.�  He doesn't know enough about creationist beliefs to make definitive statements about them.�  If you want to know what I'm referring to, ask and I'll put them in a future post.

Religion doesn't mean you believe in God.  A religion is simply the beliefs that govern your lifestyle.
