Gundam is crap, NGE is fantastic and Dune the book is also pretty good.i've had this girl in my class that was called shir muadib, and had deep blue eyes also. scary!

I see no one has ever read "Battlefield Earth", which IMO is the best book ever written (and don't assume it sucks because you saw the movie).
The Foundation Series, pretty much any Heinlein, Asimov, or Clarke.These, to name a few.

L. Ron Hubbard, on the other hand, isn't that great of a writer -- it's not because he's the creator of Scientology, he's just not all that skilled. I've been trying to read a book of his for several months, but it's taking forever because he never changes a scene -- the characters have all been in the exact same location for several hundred pages, doing the same things over and over again, and I'm just tired of reading it.
