I miss the days when there were lots of public inf servers and they were always full-ish with maps like Fortress/Abel/Warehouse/Moonshine. I think that peaked around 2005-2007 or so.

Yeah, that was the shit. Hoping the steam release gets some kind of traction, because it honestly wouldn't take THAT many new players to hit some kind of critical mass. All it takes is enough people that the servers aren't perpetually empty and people leave, and we can start seeing some kind of sticking power.

I kind of wish I were a streamer with any kind of following, because it would literally only take one decent popularity bump to resuccitate things.

The more time passes the more I'm getting paranoid about the forum turning into another archive.forums.soldat.pl.

If/When this happens someone better have enough disk space to store everything from topics to user profile pictures, or just extensively using the web.archive.org to preserve every post

Yeah in a way I did a lot of growing up on these forums, and so many of my old posts are cringeworthy at this point.
