Glitch bug on Windows 8.1
« on: September 12, 2014, 10:00:05 am »
Hello, I've noticed a new bug after last Windows Updates. I'm using Windows 8.1 64 bit on laptop MSI GT70.

Here is a video describing the whole bug. I was trying to mess up with config and troubleshooting, but it didn't help.
Bug begins in 2:17.

I got that bug once. But it was long ago and on Windows 7. So you can forget that "windows update theory"

I didn't. It just happened once.
Is it happening often for you?

It started about 4 days ago and it's like on the movie, always after playing about 2 minutes online. If I play offline, I think it's not happening.
Maybe I should check again Soldat Config or I will wait for Soldat Update (or Windows Update xD).

A few things to try out:
Join game as spec and leave the game running for 3 minutes - getting the bug as well?
Run the game in windowed mode

Thanks Shoozza.
1) Watching game as spec didn't help. Same things started after 3 minutes.
2) Playing in windowed mode in my maximum resolution (1920x1080) make glitches look some another. I will upload another video to show it.

Do you have overclocked cpu/gpu? Have you tried clean install of gpu drivers?
Do you play soldat with dedicated gpu or that integrated intel? I'd try playing with the another gpu.
I don't think it is windows 8.1 problem. Well, I haven't played soldat on new windows because of window problems but I guess this isn't usual problem.

I don't have overclocked cpu/gpu. Everything is normal, laptop is new (I bought it one month ago). Every driver is current.
I was trying to play Soldat using "Integrated graphics" and "High-performance NVIDIA processor".
This bug exists on every settings, but sometimes it looks different. Sometimes it starts faster (like after 10 seconds), sometimes it needs about 3 minutes to start. It depends which settings I'm using. I will try more settings anyway.

I've tried to disable or change FPS limit and I thought that it solved the bug, but not :/

I'm too lasy to reinstall GPU drivers and I think that it's not the problem. I really think that Windows Updates mess up with this, cause before them everything was okay ;/.
Maybe I will try to mess up with these settings:

When I'm running Soldat on integrated graphics, then I can't change there anything, but when on NVIDIA, then I can change many things ;p

I've noticed that this bug happens only when there is more than 1 guy on server except me  :o
I'm still trying to mess up with settings, but I think that I won't make any progress.

I don't want to make it, cause then I will have again two other issues xD. Before Windows Updates I wasn't able to run Movie Maker and to access Region settings in control panel.  [retard]

You said it doesn't happen offline. Did you play with more than 1 bot offline?

When I was playing offline with one bot, there was just one little little glitch for maybe 0.5 second.
When I was playing offline with two bots, things were like always. I mean a many glitches.

Does it also happen when you record a demo?
Does it happen when you replay the demo (after restarting soldat)?
