I like the spiderman consept, I would like to see that we use it as a new feature and improve it.

Yeah, why not if it doesn't break movement, but it needs to be more consistent to become a feature.

As for old maps, perhaps many of them could be remade pretty easyally by changing the polys to ice-type? Would that work?

It isn't much comfortable to remake thousands of maps again and again. On the other side most of them are stupid anyway. Ice doesn't really help.

Yay at it ruining bunch of climb maps with tiny platforms and deadly walls all over the level. How hard can it be to edit a climb map with no jet to prevent wall climbing? Start with the most popular maps, do them one by one when you come by them and you'll get there eventually. Community effort guys! Climb maps got "ruined" back when late back flips were invented as well. What's wrong with you climbers today? Just make climb maps that emphasize on the usage of this bug/feature like people did back in the good days, get some fresh and interesting dynamics out there and be happy again.

We discussed the issue on a climbing server, and concluded by saying that only initially we were shocked by the premise that a lot of maps have easy shortcuts now, and thus old highscores that were deemed untouchable would be beaten soon, ruining the effort of the former holders. But it turned out that while there are a lot of maps where one can take easy shortcuts, it is not too much of an issue actually.

I personally believe that this feature should not be removed, but made more reliable, and we see about the maps ourselves.

Reliability and consistance. I think that's the main task for the devs to handle right now and that goes for everything in the game.

Well, if the climbing community feels that way. I'd say go for it. After all wall jump/climb is quite a natural development in these kind of games.
And it seems to be in today's trends in many fast paced shooters.

If it's too cumbersome to code for the team. I can understand. But if you want to give it a shot. It's something that can revitalize the game play a bit.
