Yeah, I'm thinking about creating one with camera tricks.

Nice :-)

How you recording your demos btw? I've been using OBS lately for other things but when I tried with Soldat a bit the quality was pretty shit for local recordings though maybe its just the my settings need tweaking, don't really want to go back to huge ass fraps files though.

Those are really sick vids. I especially love the white grenade mod and the custom textures. Do you have links to those?

Also, what do you mean by grandparents recipes? Your grandparents are gods at Soldat and made these vids?

I really like the editing and music of grandma's recipe.
It's cool how clearly you can still see stuff when zooming in that far now. A lot of new possibilities for Soldat movies.

Grenade mod: http://forums.soldat.pl/index.php?topic=44226.0
And to me the custom textures look like they were taken from my NoNameMod: http://forums.soldat.pl/index.php?topic=44253
(he might have done them on his own, though)

Cool videos there :D

I still see some room for quality improvement, but I'm not sure how viable it would be. If you go further and record with UHD (3840x2160) you would get even better quality in the zoomed in parts (final video could still be downsized to FHD). This would need an UHD screen though and I don't know if the computer can keep up recording at 60fps with that. Another thing you could try is recording at slow speed (there is a command line parameter for setting soldat demo speed). Then you can speed up the normal parts while keeping slow motion parts smoother.

Both videos are only available at 1280x720 30fps on Youtube.

Why are they titled FHD 60fps ?

I think youtube is just failing to choose the right video format

Works fine for me and several others.

Got the idea from one of my favorite streamers... they were cooking and eating dead rats... called it their "Grandma's Recipe."

Ok. Looks like it was an issue with the chrome extension "Magic Actions for YouTube"

If I disable it I get access to 1080p60

So it was indeed an issue on my hand. Sorry about that.

That's okay. Glad you got it fixed... it would have messed up your youtubing in the future. :(

I'm not sure but I don't think the video is made in 1080p*60fps?
I'm trying to download it using ClipGrap, and I only get 720p as an option.
I can download other youtube videos that I know is 1080p.

I know that if you use Sony Vegas to edit your movie, you first have to set the format in settings so that you're making the video in 1080p, and then you need to save it as 1080p.
If you make the video in 720p, but saves it in 1080p, I don't know what happens, maybe youtube see that the video is actually 720p?

I'm just guessing here though

Recorded in 1080p @ 64 fps, Saved, Rendered in 1080p @ 60 fps, Uploaded in 1080p @ 60 fps with an exported .avi file of 40 gigs.

Converted it to FHD/60FPS .mp4 named Wattt so I have a small file backup (76,068KB).

Definitely a youtube/downloader fail. Weird that it won't download in FHD/60 fps. Roast of Gungrave is at 720/60 fps though.

As for me, I can watch it in 1080p*60fps w/o issues. So it definitely is an issue related to your downloader tool.

That's the crappy .mp4 version bitrate. I uploaded the 40 gig .avi file with the higher bitrate.

I don't quite understand it myself but YouTube introduced the DASH format for files higher than 720p resolution, separate download of sound and video. You have to combine it with an dash audio file using ffmpeg. I guess Clip Grab hasn't been updated to adapt to this change

I also read something about itags but I don't understand it.
https://github.com/rg3/youtube-dl/issues/1605

Strangely enough it seams youtube doesn't like that people can just download any video :p Good day for copyrights, sad day for SoldatFilms

Anyway, keep making dem videos! :) You rock!
