Kenix:
Our lead developer helloer has further news on the development of Soldat 1.8 and the upcoming Steam release which he decided to share with the community.

--- Quote ---A small update on the development:
As you know, I have failed once again to release the next version of the game on time, I'm deeply sorry for that.

At the beginning of the New Year, I set myself a final deadline to release v1.8 in Q1 2020. This time, however, if I won't deliver a new version in that time I will proceed with plan B which means I will: 1) Release 1.7.1 on Steam 2) Open-source v1.8 codebase 3) Step down as a lead developer.

To be clear, I'm not done yet with developing Soldat and I hope it won't come to that, but I had to draw a line because this initially hobby project to improve Soldat has turned into a never-ending project.

I will keep you informed about the progress towards v1.8 so stay tuned.
Thank you for your understanding <3

It does not make sense in my opinion... How many people still playing soldat? 10-15 players on 2 public servers (only CTF mode). Helloer, I have respect for your work but let it go. The best times for this game are over :(

I understand that Soldat is not so popular as it was. But Soldat is also game that has very unique gameplay and you cannot find such a game like this. So, good luck development team, at least I am excited to see this game reborn again. And I bet I am not alone.

GymPolice:
I'm happy this game is still being worked on. I'll return with the Steam release and see how it's doing. :)

machina:
