Apparently, someone on Soldat hates me enough to imitate me. Exact same name, same colours, acts like me & talks like me. This has gone on long enough. There are a number of players I can list off the top of my head who hate me/bully me and would do something like this. It's late at night, I'm tired, and I'm frusterated. All I want is to let those involve know this: it has gone on long enough. It's time to do the mature thing and just let the whole gender issue die. It is not vital to gameplay.

If you go to u13.net and search for the user "-[ILOA] -Vis-" (without quotes) in u13 Private CTF, you'll find stats for someone who uses the barret almost exclusively, and judging by the stats, is probably someone who sits in there and camps all day with the barret.

Now, I've never been in u13 Private CTF, and I know those aren't my stats. And yeah, I complained about it, but at the end of the day, there's nothing I can do about it. So I forget about it, and just have fun playing. Stats aren't the first thing on my mind when I enter a game. And if someone runs their mouth off under my name, and people think that it's actually me, that could become a problem.

If you go to leo's stats/clans/CE, you'll notice I'm listed twice:
CE | echo_trail, and some lame ass duplicate who obviously didn't do his homework,

I don't mind too much, though. I don't care much about stats anyway.
I agree that you should either just change your name into a name a little more sophisticated, or simply stop giving a flying ****.. This is ratehr common in all games, not only soldat. You gotta handle it as they do all over the world - move on with your life.

Oh well, does it really matter if people play with the same nickname as you do? I mean, I can tell it's a little annoying when it's an obvious ripoff, but Agirl.. If you have a name this common, or even a name put together with a couple of common words, you shoudln't run around accusing people of stealing your name.

OK... I need to clear a few things up.

For one thing, my name on the forums is "a girl!". My name on Soldat is "a girl! [Jen]". JEN IS MY NAME. Someone is running around with my name and it bugs the c*** outta me.

Also, I have been bullied and harrassed because I am a girl. I have put up with so much idiocy because people (a) don't believe there are girls on the internet, (b) don't believe me when I say I'm a girl and feel the need to push me around with "he's not a girl" type insults. One member Â has gone so far as to "spread the word" of my "non-feminism" so people I've never played with before have no respect or trust for me. So now that someone is running around pretending to be me... I think this is the most frusterated I've ever been in my life because there is nothing I can do to stop it.

A name change is due, I can agree with that, and I'm going to register my current screen name. But if this c*** keeps up, I'm not going to keep playing Soldat.

...and yeah, as the post above mentions, being female can attract unwanted attention in a game that is dominated by pastey-skinned little boys. Being non-sexual on the 'net is the best way to go.

Which is exactly why it's a very good idea to come up with a name that is fully origional. For instance, I play as "HN-73r". Pronounce it like "Hunter".

Nobody believes there are no girls on the internet. They may or may not believe that you're a girl, but chances are that the purpose of the "he's not a girl" type insults is to get a reaction from you. For some people, encountering someone on the internet with a girl's name is enough to justify asking stupid questions, swearing, and being a general annoyance. Advertising your gender by putting a girl! in your nick name is practically an invitation to them. It sounds like your reaction only makes it worse.

The people who harass you about being female are idiots anyway, and so is anyone who believes it when they hear that you're not a girl rather than coming to their own conclusions. So why do you care what they think?

Actually Anna, there is one person in an INF game who was quite adamant that there were no girls on the internet and he would persist to tell other players who objected that they did not know the truth, only he knew it.
Jen, I obviously present during that game and many others you have been subjected to harassment, but dont let it get to you.Â I guess the truth of the matter is they are growing kids trying to cope with the fact that a girl keeps m79'ing them.Â Dont let them get to you, if you do, they win.

Camping Carl in general is a pretty generic name when it comes to the internet, im sure there are dozens of them amongst the various counter strike, battlefield, or soldat games.

Okay, so it seems we all agree that you should just change your name into something a little more complicated, and that you shouldn't pay attention to those pricks who ***** up about gender. I also think it's stupid and immature how people can't play a simple game like soldat, without totally freakin' out as soon as they see a girl. It pretty much reflects the everyday life, if you ask me.
