Perhaps you should contribute a little.  ;)

On another note, I'd really like to see that 'smite' button go away.  I'm pretty sure the idea was to measure how much you've helped out, not how much you haven't.  So if people don't think you've contributed anything, they simply won't give you any karma.

I agree with you on this one, but i guess we'll have to see what happens.

I have a question though, i'm not quite sure what is ment about the 24 hour time period. Is there a limit to how many people you can do in 24 hours? Or is it somthing else. Thanks much

Matt

Beats me.  I'm suprised people even know you well enough to smite you so much.

Edit: Wtf, 600 posts?  This keeps happening to me -- people have huge post counts and I vaguely recognize their avatar or nick, but have no idea who they are.

You know, to destroy karma abusing entirely, have the person only be able to + or - one person per 24 hours. It works well on other forums.

I already turned it up to 24 hours, read the rest of the thread.

after glancing at your recent posts, 95% of them are spammish and useless.  That is why people "hate" you.  This is the karma system doing exactly what it is meant to do.  If you stop posting garbage on the forums, you'll see your karma maybe become positive some day.

The system works perfectly, you're a posterboy for it.  Even if you never become positive, you can take pride in the fact that you're a perfect illustration of how this is all supposed to work...

... just don't post about it, please.

No I mean, you will only be able to smite or applaud one person, and then you can't smite or applaud anyone else until the next day.

Having only one chance per day.

@kingkitty: then it'd be a nuisance, really. If it could be limited to 5 members, that's fine with me.

... just don't post about it, please.
lol, I warned ya :P Complaint-threads about karma will ALWAYS pop up on larger forums it is implemented in. I think ignoring 'em would probably be the best thing to do.

So there's no way you can implement some kind of personal log, or do you actually hold faith in that the community's maturity will eventually dominate? ;D
