Is lagging a problem??
« on: June 12, 2006, 03:02:28 pm »
I want know if lagging is a big source of the problem.Because theres not just 1 type of lag there could be many more i dont been there are types of lag i meen what lag can do like if you had lag and you shot someone accurately with a barret and they didnt die wouldnt that be lag.Or h about zipping around couldnt that be a big problem.I was always wondering what if lag becomes to serious.Right now we dont care if we have lag but what if lag does get serious and then poeple will have a hard time connecting and playing.(reason im posting these kinda things is because i think too much lol)

Lag has always been a problem. It's just something you have to get used to. What I think is unfortunate is that the fate of many games is determined largely by lag. This is especially true for league games, such as SCTFL, where it's not uncommon to have two clans from two different continents paired against one another. If you view the match report of two fairly even clans, you'll find that the clan who got to play on their server twice is usually the victor. I'd be truly happy if that could be fixed. But it probably never will be, and, as I said, one just has to get used to it.

You probably don't have to worry about lag becoming anymore "serious." Internet connections are constantly improving, so it's unlikely that we'll see the situation degrade to a point where the game is unplayable.

lag hits me very hard being a devoted m79/LAW/nade spam junky, so when I throw 2 nades, shoot a m79 shell, then LAW them, and they don't die, I get alittle pissed off.  I also think it is the difference in many cases between barely killing an opponent and them barely killing you.

The not dying and warping are the same type of lag, connection lag.
However if you mean lag as in your computer is too slow to play the game efficiently, that's a whole different story.
Two kinds of lag my friend...
In my opinion that is...

If your in a laggy server like more then 100 ping or 150 just leave and find a new better server and if you like it put it on favourites and play on it !

Don't bump posts over eight months old
If he hadn't posted here, then you would've told him to search for this thread if he remade it. I'm really tired of this "Don't bump old topics" garbage... :-\

go ahead and revive topics if you have something on-topic to say... but don't post just to yell at someone for posting in an old topic, because that is 1) our job and 2) they may have a reason.

both quoted posts have been deleted
