placing the fire gfx
« on: September 06, 2006, 09:28:04 pm »
On some of the weapons i make, i add the fire effects, test them in game, and wow  :o they are all out of place. Whenever i try to fix this it just get worst   ???. the fire effect appears to far or to close from the gun. Could someone pls explain how to match the fire with the gun?

the way im doing it now is, if the fire is to far from the gun i move to the left, if it is to close i move it to the right.

lol maybe im just being stupid and cant get it straight

that should be right?

i think theres a set value/sum. like left-pic-side to farest-gun-pixel +-*/ (whatever) to left-piciside to first-flash-pixel

Just look at the default weapons.
Compare the length of your weapon to the default one (for example: 3 pixels longer)
Then place your fire like the default one and move it 3 pixels to the right

What I do, is just paste my gun graphic on the fire image and then move the fire graphic to where I want it. Then just delete the gun graphic from the picture leaving just the fire graphic.
