!!IMPORTANT!! - install to "soldat/" directory , NOT in "soldat/mods/" .

file size- 21 mb


Mod is compatible with Soldat 1.3.1 and 100% playable online.

This mod is a total conversion of Soldat. It changes Graphics and sounds converting the game from "soldier shooter" to Battlemech shooter. Imagine that everything in the game is 10 times bigger (and heavier) and youre in;]. It consists of all i love about mechs from games(Cyberstorm, Earthsiege, Shattered Steel, Shogo, Heavy Gear, Mechwarrior/Mechcommander Series) and anime mech-orientated series like Gundam or Macross. Details of the conversion are:

-Modified graphics of soldiers,weapons, bullets, powerups (including Rambo mode)
-Modified most of in-game sounds
-More than 30 Bots, fitting in the atmosphere of mod
-Selectable modified Standard Interfaces
-Multiple sets of weapons and application to easy swich between them
-Several "gostek" graphics, to fix mecha look from 2 parts(17 lower and 25 upper parts) + changable head graphics
-Custom interface, customisable (via same app.) with health status on selected mech picture (close to one from mechwarrior/heavy gear etc..)
-2 new dm/tm/rm/pm maps (MS_Asteroids, MS_Invaded)

I'll be gratefull for any comments.
Further update is planned, so please tell me what i could do to make the mod better.

This has always been "the mod to have" even though it's WAAAAAY bigger then the game itself!  Good work mate.

Personally, the only giant robot I'd feel "cool" piloting is a Wanzer from Front Mission. 'Cuz of Front Mission: Gun Hazard, which is an awesome game.

Never the less, this is still a freakin' sweet mod. It has the potential for unlimited customization, and there's quite a bit you can do with it out of the box.

Nice mod, but it's not my style either.
I'm just not into the space/futuristic mods.
Nice work on heretic mod though!

Isn't that pretty much what it is? I dunno wtf a spork is, I suppose it's way weaker than the pistol since you compared that to this.

i don't really like this mod much i have to say. I like all the gosteks though :)

its all too noisy. the sounds are to fat and echoey which makes playing real annoying. I don't like the weapon mods either :( and how come that one entire weaponset is green??

It may as well be a different game.. and IMO there are too many weapons. you could never be satisfied.

its all nice but It's not my thing.

It wont work.. When i open it up and click play MS it just closes and doesnt open up soldat.. same with the heretic mod.. what do i do?

lol. have u even used this mod yet? all of the guns have been shrinked to soldat size.
there are weapons from many mech games like:
mechwarrior 3
shogo
gundam seed (tv series)
starsiege
zone of enders
and so on...

if ivan can shrink that, then i can say AC wont be a problem.  :P

It may sound irresponsible but i havent finished this site yet...i decided to spend more time on modding than doing the site, but shortcut is always there in case i'll make myself on doing it...
As for the ZoE and AC weapons...My problem's like that- I'm a simple PC user, i do not posess PSX2. I just can't afford the console and expensive games for it, so i only know these games from hearig/googling.

but it's was never finish .... (I try to make a map for it but it's was ..... absolutly ridiculous when we saw the other map (no shading and horrible paint building)

Not sure.  Anyway, MECHA SOLDAT PWNS!  I love this thing, a true tribute to two things I truly love: walking tanks and big-ass guns.
To sum up my point: We had a multipage debate about toilet padding. (Putting TP in the water so you don't get splashed.)
And we still don't know if dead guys can keep a stiffy.

Well, i appreciate your enthusiasm guys. Right know i'm working on something innovative in heretic mod, and mecha with this ac set is next in line. I just dont have much fre time to make it any faster so just be patient, cuz i'm not going to show to the forum something that i'm not satisfied with myself.
Also you can expect me not to show here often (as it was during the hollidays), for next month, rl is exhausting me much these days.

Again thanks for your blessings, i'll make sure you see something much better than last time, through it will take some time.

P.S. if you want to help, destroy all haxors if possible, cause they're intensively sucking away all my faith in future of soldat and my will of modding the game that seems like little more dead each day....

Great! also I want to suggest a small thing in your asteroid map map. Theres the big planet (jupiter prolly) and some computers cant accept that huge scenery, so in the next release you could split that huge scenery into smaller parts.

about those hackers, yea they kill my soldat fun too. And also my skills are getting veeery rusty these days. I can still move amazingly with my soldat but my aim and tactics are total **** too often. The only way to avoid a hacker is not to join a server that has a hax.
After ill release the final version of era, ill leave soldat modding for good. I'll start something a bit more advanced thats also quite interesting:
3d modelling. Im already gettin good at it, but im just a starter for now. I recommend it to all of you in here aswell whos intrested. It will be also usefull in the future if your job/hobby will be doing something with 3d stuff.

This mod is pure gaming love in tangible form. Seriously. Gaming GOLD. Period. No discussion.

It obviously shows a love of all things mecha. I bet you own every Gundam/Mazinger Z/ Zone of the Enders/Super Robot Taisen product ever made.

I'm working on a mecha-themed one now. I built it in regular MapMaker. I tried editing it in Soldat Polyworks, and it got a little screwed up. None of the polygons collide with player sprites, so gosteks fall through the ground. Gotta fix that. I'll try getting screenshots up soon.

Thats why I customized this mod with all sorts of weapons from all time periods (most from special operations, but some from my own mind :), and with the origional gostex and soundsets so I could play and time period I want ant any time. Although I play "mecha mode" the most often.

as soon as i downloaded this mod i couldnt stop playing it, the amount of features in it is just overwhelming.

some ideas i would like to see for another version (i wish) are listed below:
well i dont really have any ideas.. cause it so out of the box already, but if i did have to give some i would prolly say.

-more melee weapons.
-some maps that come with it.
-more sniper rifles to choose from.
-replace the alien set with something else.. i mean.. who uses it?

and thats about it.
overall this is the perfect mod and i give it a 9.99/10

hey, maybe a chrome hounds one could take the slot.

but then again, most chrome hounds stuff in linear in design, wouldn't be very good in soldat. that and most of the weapons are supposed to be used in groups.

this mod is pretty complex. yet it is my DREAM mod! i wasn't looking for more mods because i missed the un-modded soldat, but this mod encourages me!

The humanoid gosteks and the most weapons are usable in multi, the mechas arent, as there is a limit to their size (because someone can abuse it in multi).
