I have a pretty good idea of how to set my controls but I guess its not good enough does anyone know any good ones?

Are you lefty? Do you have a mousewheel? Try this then...

Movement-Arrow keys
Shoot-L mouse button
Reload-Click Mousewheel
Switch Weapons-Scroll MW
Jets-R mouse button
Prone- Num 0
Nades-R ctrl
Throw weapon-Num 1

That's what I use.

Mines similar, I also use arrows keys.
<-- move left
--> move right
ctr key - nades
shift - throw weapon
1 switch weapon
MW - prone
Right Click - jet
Left Click - shoot

Im not a lefty btw xD

I use
Move Left: A
Move Right:D
Crouch:Left Ctrl
Jump:Space
Prone:Left Alt
Throw Weapon:Tab
Fire Weapon:Left Click
Jets:Right Click
Throw Grenade:Mouse 3 (click in mouse wheel)
Change Weapon:Scroll Backwards on mousewheel

left hand-
pinky rests on shift (prone)
left ring finger rests on A (crouch)
middle finger S (left)
pointer finger D (right)
left thumb space bar (jump)
Q is (nades) that I tap with my left ring finger
caps lock is throw weapon which i use my left ring finger for as well.
t (talk)
y (team talk)

righthand- mouse
left click (fire)
right click (jets)
side click (change weapon)
scroll wheel (vent hotkey)

I just use the regular WASD and mouse buttons..I think that's whats default in soldat?
Plus Ctrl for ventrilo

I use left alt for ventrilo, but I'm starting to hate it because I always end up using taunts while talking.

Man, it seems like I have a weird configuration.

Left and Right - A and D
Crouch - S
Prone - X
Drop/Throw Weapon - C
Chat - F
TeamChat - Q
Change Weapon - Scrollwheel
Shoot - Left Click
Jet - Right Click

Hooray it's been a long time since we had one of these threads!

My controls:

Movement - Default
Change weapon - Q
Throw Nades - E
Crouch - S
Prone - Left shift
Throw weapon - Space bar
Reload - Scroll mouse wheel
Shoot - Left mouse button
Jet - right mouse button

Basically they're all default with the exception of: Reload, throw weapon, and prone.

I use deafault only, you get used to it, and at other games I mostly had the same config.
Exept for the taunts of cource, I use alot of teamchat tauts, gets really handy is CW's
