Ctf_Db_Abyss (First Released Map)

This is my first released map, Abyss. Yeah is DodgeBall!
Zip comes with some Info and a STORY behind this map.

Oh and theres no cover. Yeah. I tried to make some but nothing looked good with this layout. Its VERY simple but i think it look nice.

Waypoints:No, bots cant throw!

How about something constructive?

I havn't played the map yet, but it looks nice and clean..no big hiding places, and pretty simple.  Good for a DB map.  For future reference, put these maps in the "DM/other maps" section of the forums.

I'd recommend makign the light sceneries more transparent.  It makes them look more realistic in the end.  The map may be a bit too small, but if you want to you can fix that by selecting the whole map and then changing the x and y properties to make it wider or taller.

Also, experiment with shading..darker colors for areas without direct light, and so on.  Gives the map a realistic feel.

hey dude, its not that i dislike it, in fact, im gonna download ur map, but i think u should have done just some more 2, 3 sceneries... drawn by urself... oh yes, and just in case u geeks (not for u captaindamnit) don't know, not everybody uses polyworks, in fact, looking at that map, looks very mapmaker plus-like to me and by the way i use map maker version 1.0, not even plus so instead of always talk in polyworks' language try giving advices as to make shadows drawn by urself, save as a scenery and finally... put it on the map as any other scenery exactly where u want it, it will look great cause it was made for the exact spot, and it will be more original than something u see on every single map u play on...

That map has not been done with map maker. You can use that light scenery only in PW. Also shadows can be done with amb_fog something scenery, or something else.

Us geeks?  Maybe you should take the time to type out those big words like "you".  And while you're at it you can get your facts straight, as has been mentioned, because this is indeed a polyworks map.  In case you didn't notice (which you didn't) the screen shot even says "Soldat Polyworks" in the upper left hand corner.

So instead of riding in on your high horse to talk down to people for speaking this Polyworks language, how about you do something constructive, hmm?

I know it sucks and all but i was just testing something. And that something which turned out to suck...sucked. Sorry for burning this map into your eyes with its horrible-ness. Just felt like trying a Dodgeball mappy.

Cause i shall make more maps!!! MWAHAHA! But not that small...me no likey small maps.

Whoa whoa...relax man.  It was a first atempt, and it's honestly not that bad.  Certainly not as bad as you make it out to be.  Take a few of the things myself and some of the others have said in to consideration and things will get better with the more practive you get.

Yeah i know, but it may sound like i just shoving myself around but i'm not. I'm just like that. Do something not as good as i wanted it to be so i get a upset. But i know i can do better. Only had 1 hour to make this so i was rushing, and didnt take the time to measure the Gostek's height.
