Multiple Computers
« on: September 13, 2006, 10:16:41 pm »
I'm a new registrant, and loving it! I also am an avid linux user. My main windows system is for games only and I used my registration on that machine. I since read the "Soldat on Linux" thread and now have it working with Wine ;D

My main question is, Can I use the same registration for both computers (i'm the only one who uses these)? or is this not considered fair use?

I'm asking mainly because right now my registered Soldat is on my win32 gaming box, and I'm using the shareware/unregistered under wine but I don't want to register under wine yet if it will invalidate my key.

Thanks,
  Adam

If the 2 computers have the same IP, then there should be no problem.
I own the Megatrazainian Empire, what about you?

Remember if the computers are lanned to the internet with the same ip it will kick them both off, but you peobably would not be able to read this if you didn't know this  :D
why do people say that readying is good for you? and computers will turn your eyes into cubes.

I just registered, also happy about that, but tomorrow I am buying a new hard drive for my computer (320GB instead of 80GB). I think I might be using the new HD for the operating system and reformatting the old one.

I'm hoping that what Dezonus is saying is true, and that the IP address is registered, not the hard drive, but I just wanted to make sure. After all, there would be no harm in keeping the 80GB hard drive as the primary one if it'd be a problem.

So yeah, how does registration work for Soldat? It said it was permanent, but does it stick to the IP or the computer?

Muchos Gracias,

Well, this is kind of a revival but I want an answer to this topic: If I use my key on two of my computers will the registration become invalid?

Thanks.
I am but a figment of your imagination. You are creating me to see what perfection is.

No, it won't. I have soldat registered on my main computer and my laptop. I am the only soul who uses them. And it works fine.

What you cannot do is use the same registration info to register soldat on computers that others use.
