What is Karma?

Hey everyone. I recently came back from a little break from the forums (my new school is tough), and i saw this karma thing. I'm not sure exactly what it is used for. Can someone explain. Are there any rewards for good karma? are there any punishments for bad karma? Is it a popularity contest? I searched the forum and found no thread by any mod or anything explaining the implementation, it seems like it was something just done one day. Please fill me In! Rock on Soldat Forums Community!

It's just some numbers by your name, if you don't like somebody you smite them(or as we say on bb.com, neg them). If you like them, you applaud them or pos rep them.

ON-TOPIC: when i searched forkarma that thread never came up eagles. Thanks for it though, i wasnt sure what it was lol
