I would like an option (in client soldat program) to see the name of every player above each soldier.

As fun as it would be to target each jerk and own him, I think this would go to waste, there is no real tactical value unless you are deciding on which of two people to kill. There are already teammate's names on the edge of your screen, do you need any more?

Yes. I need more. But I don't know if seeing all these names when playing  I could get tired.

Soldiers are so small.
And in deathmatch when you are second. It's better to know what player is the first. You can make litle tactics to make him win more kills.

And in ctf can be useful if  a player enemy is fucking good. You can avoid him.

Perhaps a server can have an option to avoid that client can see the names.  ???

it would be nice to have the option there, but campers wouldnt go for it at all
anywho alot of players have easily identifiable clothes, if its deathmatch and not to packed shouldnt be a problem to pick who is who

He's only suggesting it as an option—I support it. I myself probably won't use it, but there would certainly be some who would. :)

I wouldn't like it because there would be no way to hide at all, except maybe if you just couldn't use it in realistic mode.  That wouldn't be so bad.

For Teammembers it would be okay (not just outside the screen..). You could see if your mate is hiding and dont risk accidently killing him....

This idea kills any purpose of hiding at all eben if only for a couple seconds. So I say no.

I would like it better if the teammates' names were shown, but not the enemies'.  That way, you'd know if it was a teammate hiding in the bush, and not an enemy.

I voted yes, you could also make it an option like On, Off, or Player Scroll, where you have to put your mouse over an enemy to see their name.

This could get frigging ridiculous looking on large servers though.

I don't like the idea, but there's no harm in making it an option. At the same time, I really can't see anyone turning such an option on because of it ruining camping. Plus, there is a certain element of surprise ruined if I'm able to identify more skilled targets to take them out first without having to check them.

Well the way things are now, crouching or proning will not show your name when a player's cursor goes over you, so we can basically mix that feature with this new one so people can still hide.

No, as people said this would ruin hiding and it's easy enough to notice an enemy without this.  This would ruin things in Soldat.

Isn't that pretty much what it is? I dunno wtf a spork is, I suppose it's way weaker than the pistol since you compared that to this.

See, I agree with numgun. I tend to camp sometimes, and it'd be really annoying of my prey could suddently see me :P "The hunter now becomes the hunted" - No thanks.

Anyway, I like to go manhunting in some servers. You know, find that one guy that when you meet up, you kill eachother instantly.. In this way it'd be gerat. I think it has the potential to "link" the players more, and people will better remember the different names since they'd be constantly presented with'em. I like the idea, but only if the name could somehow be hidden when the soldat is out of sight.
